Eileen P. Blessinger received her juris doctorate from the American University Washington College of Law. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Blessinger served as a law clerk to the Honorable Patricia A. Broderick, Associate Judge at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, in Washington, D.C. She also work as a pro bono prosecutor in the Juvenile Section of the Office of Attorney General, in Washington, D.C.Ms. Blessinger was recently recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” for immigration law in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. She has testified as an expert witness in immigration law in the Eastern District of Virginia and has appeared as a commentator on international television. Ms. Blessinger has also presented at several immigration law conferences throughout the country on various topics, including: advanced asylum issues, representation of detained individuals, bond proceedings, and immigration relief for children.Ms. Blessinger has appeared before many immigration courts and agencies throughout the United States and abroad. She has successfully litigated difficult cases before the Immigration Court, including asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal for both lawful permanent residents and non-lawful permanent residents, adjustment of status, waivers of grounds of inadmissibility, and NACARA. Ms. Blessinger has also successfully argued motions to terminate removal proceedings before the Immigration Court, affirmative asylum cases before the Asylum Office, and cases before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of State.Ms. Blessinger is active in a number of professional organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association and Federal Bar Association. As a dual citizen of Ireland and the United States, Ms. Blessinger is also an active member of the Irish Network of the District of Columbia. Ms. Blessinger is a member in good standing of the Virginia, District of Columbia, New York, and New Jersey Bar Associations.

I was a detained by immigration this year, while I was legal resident facing deportation. Her and her team worked hard to get my status back to legal. After a 2 month stay at a detention center she got me out and she saved my life. Always will owe her my lif and respect. Anyone that needs a lawyer that will work hard for you, should hire her. Thank you and she will always be an Angel in my eyes.
My wife and I happen to come across Eileen when we were just starting to figure out the immigration process. Eileen went out of her way to make sure we understood how the process works and made the whole experience much more relaxed. She was there every step of the way, even kindly reminding us to try get certain paperwork in order while in between steps. We could not recommend Eileen enough as what initial seemed so daunting, flew by all due to Eileen's knowledge and assistance.
I've never dealt with a lawyer like her! She gave my family peace of mind and security. I don't guarantee she'll give it to everyone but I'm grateful and blessed that she was introduced in our life the time that she was. We will forever be grateful!
Met Eileen during an snow storm when my father was detained by immigration, she took care of all the issues and my father was release right away. Due to some complications of my fathers case he was detained again for a second time and spend additional time in jail. Eileen was very dedicated and determinate to get my fathers case approved. Nov 3 2014 immigration judge approved my fathers case and he was release right away. I recommend Eileen to all my friends and every body that I know is in need of an immigration attorney. In my opinion she is the best and takes every case very serious.
