Very professional , knowledgable and compassionate to our situation. This was extremly important to my wife & I as we were going through a difficult time finacially and not knowing what to expect. Mr. Weiss represented us very well, walked us through every step on what to expect and we could not have been more pleased with the process. We would highly recommend his services. Thank you.
I first considered the possibility of filing bankruptcy over 10 years ago and initially I was severely turned off because it gave me the feeling of being a failure, embarrassed and not responsible for my own actions. As the years past, the collections were stepped up by creditors, legal actions resulted against me all the while interest and penalties made repayment an impossible task, my wife and I finally consulted Ed and immediately a burden was lifted off of my shoulders. Ed explained the details of this process, what to expect as well as what to expect if inaction were to continue. If I had to do this all over again, I never would have waited practically 10 years. I have no plans ever to file bk again but it's nice to know that I will at least get this one huge financial help in life. Keep in mind that many American icons have filed for bk and some more than once. The list includes Walt Disney, Hersey the founder of Hershey's chocolate, Donald Trump, countless Hollywood types and the list goes on. Anyway, getting back to my status, I didn't want the possibility of a creditor raiding my bank account and that was done on a couple of occasions nor putting liens on my house or any property I might obtain in the future plus putting in jeopardy the ownership of any future asset. More people have filed bk than you will ever know since many choose not to share the experience but my initial shame, stress and feeling like I had lost a friend or relative due to death disappeared some time ago and I can breathe a lot better. Surprisingly the appearance before the trustee went well and the reservation I felt the night before was just another example of wasted worry. One huge thing I have to mention is the prompt attention that Ed and his staff pays to the phone calls and emails of the client. All inquiries are handled quickly and efficiently with patience and with non of that legalese that only someone in the legal profession can understand or perhaps someone filing bankruptcy for the 20th time! I have dealt with only a couple of attorneys in the past. One was outstanding while the other firm wasn't worth a wooden nickel. The worthless law firm barely returned calls, always acted like they were too busy for the client and stressed me almost out of my mind. I won't mention the name of this poor example of a law firm but they're based in Glendora on either Grand Ave or Route 66 assuming they're still in business. Nevertheless, Ed is the opposite. Finally, I also feel that his charge was reasonable, attention to detail was exceptional, has a likable personality and Ed is an intelligent, down to earth person. His only drawback was not allowing me to predate my payment to him by 5 years and including the bankruptcy fee as part of my bankruptcy! Okay folks, that was a joke and admittedly, a very corny one! Relax, the process isn't nearly as dreadful as you might think. Not doing anything is much worse and more expensive and stressful. When your payment options have run out or become too overwhelming, filing bk can be equivalent to finding that 'fountain of youth' in a financial sense. I'm sure every case is different but my own exceeded all expectations and I even witnessed many others leaving the trustee hearing looking quite relieved and exiting with a lot more life than when they entered the room since my case was no. 21 and I got a chance to view a lot of anonymous people. Don't worry about public embarrassment, everyone is there for the same reason and chances are, you won't know anyone else in attendance and even if you do meet such a person, you will share a common bond of confidentiality.
Many attorneys have a reputation for not returning phone calls while Ed Weiss and his administrative person Linda were on top of each phone call and email providing quick, detailed responses. I dealt with an attorney years ago in Glendora and I wouldn't recommend his law firm if paid to do so and it was a very stressful period made even more stressful by that law firm's ineptitude and/or lack of basic customer service. Ed was able to explain the process in layman's terms or in a way I could understand without being overwhelmed by the legal jargon. Ed was also able to explain clearly the various options, what I was up against, scenarios regarding what is likely to happen and when. Certainly, no one individual has a 'crystal ball' but I am the type of person who likes to know not just the facts but what is likely to happen and I'm specifically referring to the impact of filing bankruptcy on my mortgage situation and the details of which I will not post but his assistance was invaluable. Although I've never set foot in New York, I would suggest Ed's services in a "New York Minute":-)
Mr. Weiss is a very honest attorney, when I first considered filing a bankruptcy he suggested we meet to discuss if that was my best option. He spent several hours with me going over my debt and income. I was very pleased with how quickly he responded to my messages and requests. His office is also very responsive. This was the second occasion in which I sought legal advice and filed a case with him. I have worked with several attorneys for various reasons and Mr. Weiss is the first one to tell me what the reality of the situation was not just what I wanted to hear. I highly recommend him to my friends and family. As a matter of fact, I have referred several friends to Mr. Weiss for consults and filings.
