About
In 2012 I was an awarded a Commendation for my work on Exile which was given to me personally by the United States Attorney for Maryland, Rod Rosenstein along with the Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley. Began a sole practice of Law in 1979 initially doing civil cases but then discovered that I really enjoyed doing criminal trial work. I was hired by the States Attorney for Frederick County as an assistant State Attorney in May of 1986.Left the office in July 1989 and resumed a solo private practice of law.During my practice I handled criminal and traffic cases including Bank Robbery, Kidnapping and other felony Cases as well as a Federal Wrongful Death Case.In 2008 my wife died, a few months later I accepted a position to become the first Frederick County Community Prosecutor under a CSAFE grant. To improve our success in getting wanted persons arrested I arranged a meeting with the editor of the Frederick News Post and convinced them to begin Fredrick’s Most Wanted. Frederick’s Most Wanted is a collaborative effort between the Frederick City Police Department and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office with the Frederick News Post. Each week four persons are posted (newspaper and website) with their photos, charges and other details as that week’sFrederick Most Wanted. Since we began in 2009 we have had 392 arrests of those subjects, many as a result of tips from the public. Some individuals have seen themselves in the paper or on the website and turned themselves in.I have also been engaged in Circuit Court prosecution, including Grand Jury indictments, felony prosecutions and many violation of probation cases.I have received extensive training over the years attending the Mid-Atlantic Regional Gang Investigators Network Conference in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. I am a member of MARGIN.
