About
Attorney Ed Braniff is a shareholder at Simmons Hanly Conroy LLC. Based in the firm’s New York office, Ed serves as the firm’s Northeast Asbestos Litigation Manager. With more than two decades of legal experience, he has secured millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of victims of asbestos-related mesothelioma and dangerous drugs and medical devices. Ed has extensive trial experience representing individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure. His broad experience also includes pharmaceutical litigation involving Accutane (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease), Actos (bladder cancer and heart failure), Fosamax (femur and hip fractures), Hydroxycut (liver injury and kidney failure), Yaz (cardiovascular injuries), Vioxx (cardiovascular injuries and stroke) and Bextra/Celebrex (cardiovascular injuries), as well as Cochlear ear implant injuries. He was co-chair of the American Association for Justice’s Vioxx/Bextra litigation group from 2008-2009. He currently serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for the Zoloft multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Ed previously served for eight years with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in the Homicide and Asian Gang Units. After completing a bachelor of arts degree from Bucknell University in 1990, he attended St. John’s University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1995. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Monmouth County (NJ) Bar Association and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
