Hired this lawyer for an accident case because of a referral from an acquaintance. He and his assistant seemed okay to begin with, but as time went on I became more knowledgeable and they became less. I kept asking them to stop negotiating and file a law suit in court. It turns out they couldn't because the accident happened in NM and they aren't licensed there and they couldn't file in California. They tried getting lawyers in NM to partner with them but couldn't even get that done. I had to argue with them to get a release letter so I could get another lawyer and they didn't want to do that even though they couldn't help me (there words not mine). Most recently someone who is familiar with them told me an insurance company that was involved had sent a letter to them concerning a settlement, apparently after they stopped representing me (I don't know for sure because they won't give me any information). Couldn't find any info on the letter and my current lawyer had not received anything. Called them and was told to call them back in a couple of days and they would give me a copy. When I called back they wouldn't take my calls, when I visited the office they tried to change the story. When they finally did get around to actually addressing it with me on the phone they refused to give me any information about the letter and told me to have my current lawyer research it (research what? they wouldn't provide even a hint). Even tried to tell me they returned the letter to the insurance company without keeping a copy (I'm really not an idiot - I'm an administrative officer so I know they had to keep a copy). I wouldn't use this firm again if they paid me.
