Mr. Williams had a vast wealth of knowledge and was very courteous. He did an outstanding job with my case, and I will refer him to anyone.
Doug Williams represented my daughter for both a felony (drug) and misdemeanor (petty theft) charge. We had our first meeting at his Deland office which was closest to our home. He let us tell our story and he listened closely taking notes and asking questions. He demonstrated a very professional attitude and made us feel comfortable and confident that we selected the right Lawyer. He met with both myself and my daughter privately relaying strategy and results. He was available anytime we had questions. He has surrounded himself with a fine staff that made several courtesy calls and were polite and friendly. Doug Williams went right to work getting the felony thrown out and worked with the state attorneys office to get my daughter the best result on the misdemeanor. In the courtroom, Doug showed poise and control and was completely organized. The judge in the case had very good interaction with him which made me feel that Doug has excellent experience both with the client and in the courtroom. I won't hesitate calling him in the future if needed.
Paid him 3k to settle a felony case. My son had 2.5 ativans and also domestic violence. The first court case..he didnt even pronounce his last name correct in court and embarrassed us. Then told my son to go to probation on a date he sat for hours to find out it wasn't even on their calendar. Then he offered my son 5 days of drug court for a crazy amount of time in the days he needed to work. Finally fired this lawyer. Got another for only 1 ,000 dollars. He got probation for 6 months now and it may even be dismissed early and the domestic charge was thrown out. So I called Mr. William's for some of our money back and he wouldn't even give us partial!! The worst!!
Don't hire this attorney! I put down a $4,000 retainer to represent me in my divorce. He kept my $4,000 despite my case being settled at mediation in 6 hours. I have hired other attorneys and they give you back the unused portion of your retainer.
