About
I have been an outstanding trial lawyer in two States, New York (Manhattan) and Arizona (Tucson) since 1988. For my entire career, I have only represented injured victims (Plaintiffs / Claimants) in personal injury (auto collision cases), medical negligence (suits against doctors and hospitals), products liability (defective products), premises liability (dog bites and dangerous conditions), and insurance bad faith cases. Through 2017, I have never created a website because 100 percent of my cases are referred to me by the hundreds of clients I have successfully represented over the last 29 years. Clients are referred to me by many different kinds of lawyers from all over the United States. Clients are referred to me from dozens of varied professionals in the Tucson business community who know of my outstanding reputation for achieving the best outcomes for my clients. I have been on the Board of Governors of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (www.aztla.org) from 2000 - 2017, and a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice (www.justice.org) since 1997. I have devoted my entire 29-year professional career to becoming the best trial lawyer I can be. This includes trying more civil cases to jury verdict than 95 percent of my colleagues and attending and teaching trial tactics seminars all over the United States. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of many charitable organizations in Tucson over the last 23 years, I have been married to Nanci since 1996 and have two magnificent daughters in Rae and Maya. Rae is now a sophomore at the University of Michigan (GO BLUE). Maya is an 11th grader. Both daughters attended and will graduate from Tucson's best high school, University High School. Nanci is employed by Handmaker (Jewish Elder Care) and performs a wide range of volunteer work in Tucson. The AVVO website at the top of the GOOGLE page contains information about me being suspended from the practice of law for 30 days back in 2007. That suspension had nothing to do with "unethical" nor illegal conduct as a lawyer, nor as a person. That suspension had to do with being wrongfully accused of engaging in litigation with an "offensive personality." I steadfastly denied those allegations and no one ever appeared at the State Bar Hearing to testify against me. The Judge who was involved in those unfortunate allegations (Carmine Cornelio of Tucson) has been reported to Arizona's State Judicial Commission for exceptionally offensive conduct of his own by several members of the Tucson community since 2007. That is a matter of public record. Judge Cornelio was such a horrible Judge that Arizona's Judicial Performance Review (JPR) recommended by an overwhelming majority that Judge Cornelio NOT be retained in 2016. Fortunately, this caused Judge Cornelio to retire well before his retirement age. My suspension in 2007 was because of unfortunate conduct by an unfortunate Judge (Carmine Cornelio). I made a decision to stand up to this Judge, which paved the way for others to do so. As a result of my sacrifice in this regard, this Judge (Carmine Cornelio) is gone. Please reference www.noethics.net/News/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1531:is-judge-carmine-cornelio-of-tucson-a-screwball-and-an-ethical-dwarf&cadid=34:judicial-misfits&Itemid=55 [NOTE: I had nothing to do with this and never posted about Judge Cornelio until 2015 (first AVVO posting). Simply google: "Carmine Cornelio"]. Also, just find the Arizona Judicial Performance Review (JPR) for 2016. It is spelled out beautifully. My reputation within Tucson's legal community is stellar. It is stellar because of the undeniable professional results I have achieved in Tucson since 1995 and because of how I have conducted myself within the legal and general communities for the last 23 years. My "rating" from AVVO should easily be a 10, but because the AVVO rating system is so terribly flawed, it is what it is. I have the HIGHEST rating that a lawyer can have WITHOUT paying money to AVVO. More information about my political positions can be found at azjewishpost.com/2012/beyond-the-2012-election-political-lives-of-jewish-tucsonans. I have also carried a BV rating with Martindale-Hubbell for the last 15 years, which is very impressive. That rating should be an AV, but I do not advertise with (pay money to) Martindale-Hubbell and I have this nonsense 2007 suspension on what should be a perfectly unblemished legal career. I will certainly never advertise with AVVO either because I do not need to.

I was injured in a serious car accident while driving on the south side of Tucson. Because I was driving for work, workman's compensation was also involved. My husband and I knew this would be a messy and long process. We met with Doug to discuss our case. He was honest and up front by telling us that it was a pretty simple case that we could handle on our own. He walked us through how it would go and what we could expect. He then offered to provide assistance if it got too crazy. He gave us all of this information and guidance without a commitment from us! My husband and I thought it over and decided that we didn't want the headache and stress of maneuvering through the ugliness of dealing with insurance companies, so we signed on with Doug. We did not regret it! He was responsive, informative, and knowledgeable through the whole process. I am so grateful that I had Doug in my corner. It greatly helped reduce the stress so that I could focus on my recovery. I highly recommend Doug to assist with and fight for getting what you deserve after being injured.
Words cannot express what Doug Levy has done for my family and I. I have known Doug since 2004 when I was involved in a horrible truck collision on I-10. A tractor-trailer ran me and my Jeep Wrangler off I-10. I was only 40 years old and have been unable to work since that day. Doug represented me through the social security disability claim and the maximum result in the case against the trucking company. Unbelievably, I was involved in a second collision in 2010 and Doug did a phenomenal job with that case. Then, in early 2020, I was involved in a third bad auto collision which caused me to suffer fractured bones. That case has now settled as well for the best possible outcome. Along the way, I was falsely accused of an assault and battery crime in Pinal County. The prosecutor performed a horrible investigation and refused to dismiss all of the charges against me. Because he has known me since 2004 and because a criminal defense lawyer would have been so expensive, Doug represented me at the criminal trial and won a complete acquittal of all charges after a one-day trial in Casa Grande. At this point, he has also represented several members of my extended family and friends. Doug is remarkably meticulous, always punctual, extremely personable, and he fights for his clients with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind. God Bless Doug Levy and his family.
I have known Doug for about 15 years and over the years, there have been a few occasions I have needed to consult with him. Doug has always taken the time to talk to me. He is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and personable. I am so grateful to be able to call Doug when I need him.
Submitted for your entertainment and education at my expense: I was driving home from work as a volunteer (yes I’m retired) when I was T-boned by a lady who admitted that she was playing with her new cell phone. Both cars were totaled and I had the added bonus of having 2 broken ribs and a leg hematoma. But don’t worry, the driver of the other car walked away without a scratch. Since this is the first accident I have been in with injuries, I figured I could just handle it myself. After all, the “good hands” people gave me a more than fair price for my totaled car in less than one week after the collision. And I remembered eating dinner with my son’s watching something on TV when I said to them “it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out”. My oldest son pointed out, “Dad, you are a rocket scientist”. So I thought this should be easy to settle. Well, nearly 18 months later and putting in more time than I would have done for a missile design review, providing documentation, bills and negotiating, I got a great settlement that ended up costing me money. What? It costs me money to get T-boned and it was 100% the other persons fault? Example, Medical bills $10,000, they settle for $9,500. They say they gave you $2,000 for pain and suffering. But they don’t pay all $10,000 of your medical bills, only $7,500. You settle for $9,500. Sounds good to me, I got $9,500. WRONG, you got nothing and you are out your deductible. Yes, it’s true. Remember, whatever the snakes (that’s the name the insurance company will be called in the remaining body of this review) settlement is, they pay everyone back before you get any money. So then it hit me as clear as a radar range equation - you may be a rocket scientist, but you are NOT A LAWYER! Now the statute of limitations is fast approaching and I need a lawyer (finally I’m getting to the point of the review). I could go with “in a wreck, need a check” ambulance chasing firm, but I don’t need a check since I’m only out my deductible. I want to be treated fairly and I want a lawyer that will get more than $2,000 for pain and suffering for 2 broken ribs and make the snakes pay as much as possible paying their lawyers to defend them. So I did what every retired person does to think, I went to COSTCO to eat free samples and get a hot dog. That was the best move I made. I ran into a friend of mine and I mentioned the dilemma I was in. He recommended a lawyer that could be for me. After I finished my hot dog, I immediately went home and called (here it comes) Doug Levy. After filling him in on all of the details he responded, “You are an idiot!” I can’t disagree with that logic and at that point I knew I found my lawyer. Doug took pity on me. It was him against the snake. Doug did exactly what I wanted, and in the end, the snake’s settlement cost them what I estimate to be 3 times more than the original settlement offer after factoring in the snake’s lawyer fees, medical expert reviewer fees, mediator fees, and the final settlement to me. Needless to say I got more than $2,000 for pain a suffering for 2 broken ribs and the case was settled with less than 1 month before the court case was scheduled. Doug and his paralegal Michael are knowledgeable and will handle your case with attention to detail that will result and a fair settlement with any snakes you might have to deal with. Let’s face it, neither Doug nor I got rich from this law suit, but he handled this case like it was a multi-million dollar one to me. I could not recommend Doug and Michael enough for anyone that needs expert legal assistance. Thanks to Doug, I’m an idiot no more! Well as far as fighting snakes are concerned. My wife may beg to differ. Remember don’t be an idiot, call Doug Levy first if you ever get T-boned.
We were involved in an auto accident 12/18. We tried dealing with the other drivers insurance company and decided legal advice was needed. We were referred to Doug who guided us through all of the negotiations. We felt as if Doug was a long time friend. Now we know he cares about his clients!
When it comes to a personal injury attorney, one word best describes Doug Levy: THOROUGH. From the day we first talked on the phone until my case came to a most beneficial settlement 46 months later, he was always in my corner providing positive encouragement. My traumatic experience began during a bicycle ride on a beautiful February day in Tucson. At an intersection an RV suddenly turned into my path, dragging my bike and me along the concrete. My injuries were massive. Enter Doug Levy. The first thing he said to me: I want you to recover. That's my biggest concern. One of Doug's strengths is knowing how to establish a rapport with his clients. In my case, as a former sports reporter/columnist, he revealed a remarkable knowledge of all sports which instantly helped us form a working relationship. He is extremely professional, yet engaging, with skills that extend far beyond the legal jargon. From Day One, Doug told me my situation was unique. I had no idea how the process works. He convinced me patience is the key to reaching the best possible settlement. And he was completely correct. I would highly recommend Doug Levy, who has now become a friend, as a personal injury attorney.
I was referred to Doug for a personal injury case that I was involved in. Doug is very knowledgeable and patient and very caring of his clients. He went above and beyond our expectations.
Doug is amazing, quick and affective... and a totally cool human being! I had a quick consultation and within months Doug had a large settlement deposit straight into my account...” that was easy” I’ve delt with legal proceedings thru insurance and this was by far the easiest and most thorough litigation with the best results... I would recommend Doug Levy to anyone who are eager to get the best results and the highest respect.
Doug is an upfront and honest guy whose honestly I appreciate. I was referred to him from a friend as I had recently just moved to Arizona. Doug was attentive and persistent getting the facts we needed for my case. There were several hiccups on my claim due to the fact my claim was against my very own auto insurance for a non-insured motorist collision that left me injured. Not only did Doug fight for me when my own insurance company lowballed me with a settlement of 18k when I was due to have a whopping 100k! Which I indeed received rather quickly! Doug is the kind of guy who will go out fighting for what you deserve!
Bad things happen to good people, this is a fact. So when a good person has been wronged and needs to take legal action, they need to seek someone who will understand and guide them. Doug Levy is that attorney. I had an accident because of someone else's neglect Doug understood and guided me through a process that was so frustrating any good person would have had bad thoughts. Doug was encouraging, frank and patient. The outcome was worth every frustrating minute. Doug’s negotiating skills are the best I have seen in a very long time, which make for the best outcome for his clients. I have the upmost respect for Doug and do not hesitate to recommend him.
