He did my divorce and was very fair and made things very simple. I have kids and he understood the importance of this. He has kids of his own and was quite compassionate in this area.
I hired this attorney for a bankruptcy case. Handled everything very professionally and at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.
I was going through a financial hardship due to some unforeseen home repairs when I just moved into my condo. It ended up costing me way more than I expected and was advised to try and sue the previous seller as even though house passed inspection, things they would of been aware to. They say you get what you pay for, Mr. Buk basically lost my case as did not fight to keep anyone in (realtors, inspectors, etc.). He would joke how he could do his cases from his bedroom during the pandemic, just the laziest individual I ever met. He does not care about you as a client, never communicates, you basically do your own legal case work. He then blames you for not receiving something in the mail he sent when you have had stellar communication and never follows up to see that maybe you didn't receive something he sent, how would you know? I am in the process of sueing him due to the beyond negligence he displayed. I only hired him as I thought he had the reputation of his father, he should be disbarred.
I needed an error removed from my credit report. Douglas Buk said he could have that error easily corrected since I supplied him with all documentation of payments, including confirmation numbers, dates, etc. Douglas Buk charged me $150 up front but didn't do anything at all to try to correct the error. I had to call him repeatedly and stay on HIS CASE, and then he finally wrote a letter to the company in question. He didn't include in that letter any of my documentation, so, of course, Buk and his letter didn't help at all. I corrected the problem myself after another year or so. Don't waste your money with this guy. Maybe he's an ambulance chaser and that's why he wouldn't do anything once he got my money. I don't know but I wouldn't ever recommend him if you're paying him out of your own pocket.
