About

I was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. I married Peter Prashad in 1995. I have a step-daughter and two beautiful granddaughters who are 8 and 2.I obtained my undergraduate degree in Justice and Public Safety from Auburn University at Montgomery, and my Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, AL. I received my license to practice law in Alabama in 2002.During law school, I clerked for a firm in Tuscaloosa and after becoming licensed, I practiced with that firm as an associate for two years. In 2004 I returned home to Montgomery and opened up my own practice. My practice has always centered around the area of family law. In 2004 I volunteered at the Family Sunshine Center assisting women who were victims of domestic violence and was recognized as volunteer of the year.

Mrs. Prashad took my case on a very short notice and walked me through every step of the way. I had been served with divorce papers and was almost out of time to respond, but she jumped to work and stood up for my rights.
