Finding a great lawyer is like fishing for a needle in a haystack. But this one stands out for many reasons. If you want a person that will stand by you through the end, Diane is the one. She will fight for your requests. She will cut out unnecessary language & requests from the opposing side; going through each page. She’ll let you know if what you want is valid to fight for, or just a waste of your time & money. She will communicate with you periodically so you are aware of the progress of your case. She will explain legal terms in layman’s terms so you can understand. She will explain to you the pros and cons of potential outcomes; because she has the experience and does not want you to be blindsided in any way. Through the whole process, she will work with you and the other side to create an acceptable, positive resolution using mediation; so you don’t end up at a court trial. She is available to reach by phone or email, and will respond back to you via her assistant, or many times personally. She has reasonable rates and is flexible enough to reschedule your appointment when life happens to you. She will stay calm and treat you with professionalism through the tough times when the other side is putting on the pressure and in court. A person recommended her and I’m glad. She won’t burn a hole in your pocket, and will get everything done that needs to be done. All I can say is, if you want a lawyer who will do all of the above and more for you; you need to hire her now! Thanks
Diane has been an advocate for my children and I. She has expertise in law as well as in life and relationships. She takes the time to know you as a client and truly cares about the best interest and welfare of others. Thank you Diane.
Engaged to represent when first attorney withdrew after failed mediation because "I don't do litigation", in a "no-fault" divorce. Complex financial issues where plaintiff mixed business assets to his benefit prior to filing for divorce. Engaged forensic accountant for $12,000+. Unable to resolve any significant issues with opposing counsel prior to trail primarily because the opposing counsel was on vacation and unavailable. Met briefly before trail with no agreements. Trial started with opposing counsel presenting 2 notebooks of exhibits etc. Diane said she only had individual exhibits and folders and that the judge's clerk said that would be satisfactory which the clerk denied, The judge said he would accept what she had. Early in the proceedings she objected two times and the judge told her that this was a family court and would be more relaxed. Trial was two full days in length where the plaintiff took the entire 1st day (2 sessions) and 3 hours of the next day. Our accountant took 2 hours in explaining her financial analysis, I testified for an hour. Her submission of proposed findings etc. were only reviewed in haste due to time constraints and contained omissions and errors that were only discovered later. The judge's order was a "cut and paste" of the plaintiff's findings, conclusions and order. The forensic accountant's analysis was dismissed in favor of the plaintiff's assertions that "he was trying to do the right thing and was paying off familial debt " Ms. Kaer believed the judge made errors that could be addressed upon appeal but based on the $50,000 we had already spent and the previous results of her efforts we declined. She refused to take on the appeal on contingency. She was steamrolled by the aggressiveness and confrontational attitude of the opposing counsel and more concerned with the procedural aspects of the pre-trial, trial and post-trial phases than the outcomes. Her effectiveness in presenting our case was not to our satisfaction.
Would NOT recommend Diane Kaer. She talks big when you first meet her, but then she gets in the court room and acts like a scared little school girl talking to the judge, struggling to speak and appear knowledgeable. Didn't appear prepared at all. She is not a personable atty that you can have an effective conversation with; she cuts you off mid sentence alot. We figured if she was this rude to us as clients she would be strong and rude to shut down the other atty. WRONG! The other atty walked all over her because she wasn't prepared and didn't listen to us enough to get the history of our case. We spent alot of money with her and were worse off after having her representation.
