I filled bankruptcy because I have to stay home to be my husband. Because I did not have enough money to file, he charge me the least amount that he can charge me. My attorney's not only compassionate but he's also very knowledgeable with all aspect of bankruptcy. My bankruptcy went smoothly that I only saw the trustee once. By the way, Tina (his legal assistant) filled my chapter 13 in less than a day.
Mr. Gooch helped me out of a hard situation. I was being garnished and I needed to file my case fast in order to stop it. After I retained the office, I gathered all of the necessary paperwork and filled out my questionnaire as quickly as I could. Mr. Gooch's general policy is to have his clients come back for an appointment to return the paperwork and make sure all of the information is filled out on the questionnaire and then have clients come back another time to sign the completed paperwork. Because of my emergency situation with the garnishment, Mr. Gooch's staff and even Mr. Gooch himself, completed the paperwork while I waited and I signed it the same day that I brought it in. I had a case number before I walked out the door and I got my garnishment stopped. I truly felt that Mr. Gooch and his staff cared about me and wanted to help me. While Mr. Gooch can seem a little rough around the edges, he is truly caring. I would highly recommend him to anyone facing debt problems.
DeWanye is a complete joke of an attorney! He is unbelievably rude and makes you feel as if the issues are because you created them. He is only interested in collecting a paycheck and will not fight for you. During the initial consultation he interrupts and dismisses, not having the common courtesy to let you finish a single thought before interrupting with his own predetermined notions.
told me not to pay my 2nd mortgage and when it went into foreclosure "screamed at me" and said he never told me that! he is rude and arrogant and does not know the realestate side of a chapter 13 which he said he did when I hired him and then let my lender get a release of stay after following his directions. he then told me to get a Realestate attorney after charging me $4100.00 in my plan to pay him. He has made the entire process so stressful for us I can't even begin to explain. Just go somewhere else.
Office not ADA accessible. Initial consultation was like dealing with one of those used car lots with the 'buy here finance here' signs except his attitude was: the only reason you are here is because you aren't smart enough to handle your finances, and I know it, and that makes me a better person than you. That may be true for a lot of his clients (marks) and I'm not saying we were perfect in that regard but when you and your spouse get laid off and medical events occur such that one of us will never work again a little feigned understanding would have gone a long way. We paid him over 75% of the (verbally) agreed upon fee (he has a loose per hour fee for extras in the paperwork - read carefully). We did our work filling out questionaires, getting appraisals, etc together, but the rules kept changeing for us to provide information. Anytime we emailed the office with questions they were never resonded to (5 different emails over a 6 week period) and that was the "preferred and fastest resonse method". Phone calls (voice mails we left) were only responded to once. The last incident was when I requested an appointment to find out what the problem was. I was kept waiting over 30 minutes while he talked on the phone ( I overheard every word. He told one spouse to tell her husband he needed to quit his job because "I don't like that company"). He finally ended the call came out into the hall and asked if anyone had helped me yet. Didn't recognize me. I told him we had an appointment and he did not recognize me. I did not give him my name but the staff finally figured out who I was. The meeting was brief. He opened my file and thumbed through it and said this is all wrong. You haven't done anything I asked. My notes showed exactly what he had asked for and what details he had neglected to ask for. He tossed the file on the floor and said "I don't want to take your case. Get out." I asked for my money back, but he claims to have earned every cent and refuses. What do you do? I'm broke. My wages are being garnisheed. Utilities are going to be shut off. Have ongoing medical expeses. Car needs a new engine. Be sure to ask him about his beautiful old building in Colorado City. He is very proud of it.
