Mr. Tsarouhis is very knowledgeable & personable. His areas are commercial and bankruptcy. We utilized him for commercial work within the past five years. The results were unsatisfactory. He was not aggressive. He failed to report on a monthly basis, he failed to bill on a regular basis, and he failed to provide any status reports at all. When we had referring counsel ask to look at the file, he was evasive and dilatory. While he is professional, his work is not up the standards of the bankruptcy bar of the Eastern District of PA generally. His email gets full many times and one cannot leave messages. He often takes several days to return calls to the client, or to return replies to emails. He is sometimes not forthright when he has not done work that was requested. He is very nice but his support behind him is poor, his followup is poor, and he does not really grasp the concept that with clients, we need calls returned within 24 hours and service and emails very promptly. It's hard to characterize him as very hard working. In general, his work is not up to the levels of a Maurice Mitts, a Mike Reed or any of the other well-known BK lawyers in the E.D. of PA,and in some respects may fall below the level of competence of the average BK atty.
We hired Demetrios Tsarouhis to help us collect a debt owed to us as the result of a civil judgment against a local contractor. As clients of Mr. Tsarouhis, we found that although work was done, it was not done in a timely fashion. It took 1 1/2 years for a small amount of work to get done by Mr. Tsarouhis. The outcome was unsuccessful for us, no money was collected. This attorney's communication & follow-ups were poor. Phone calls & emails went unanswered by him for days, sometimes weeks at a time. Multiple attempts would be made to get a response from him. Many times we couldn't leave messages for him because his inbox was full & nobody answered the phone at his office. A hearing even occurred and we were never notified of the time or place. To date, we have not received any details from the hearing. We basically gave up pursuing this case. We have worked with other attorneys and we were not put on the back burner like we were with Attorney Tsarouhis.
