I would recommend anyone going through a divorce or child custody case use Debra Dishmon! She truely does look out for your best interest or the best interest of children. I would put her up against ANY attorney! She is really easy to speak to & if you do not understand anything going on, do not hesitate to ask her to explain. I was going through a very ugly child custody case & this woman saved my life & the life of my child. I can not thank her enough for everything she has done for our life. She was worth every penny we paid her. I have already recommended her to some of my friends that she is representing. She is not like any other attorneys that I have used or been around in the past. Thanks Debra, you are the BEST!
Ms. Dishmon is a condescending and rude attorney. If she practices family law she certainly doesn't take into consideration the well being of children involved no matter what side of the case she is on. She is a disgrace.
I wanted to like her, but her inability to listen to you as the client, disorganization, lack of empathy, offensive behavior toward the client, and constant disrespect exhibited towards the client and without regard to others around makes it impossible. Motions do not get filed by her, just the other side. The more you do to help provide the necessary resources and information to help win your case, the more annoyed she becomes. I can only surmise she doesn't have or make the time to review the hours of evidentiary proof as a client sppon feeding it to her. Lawyers are supposed to fight for their clients, children, etc. Unfortunately, Debra seems to care how much she makes in the end. She has allowed the other party to do as they please despite the fact she has everything possible to file for contempt, protect the rights of her client, and prevent dragging on a case unnecessarily. It is incredibly disappointing she has treated my case in such a manner. She has a legal, ethical, and moral responsibility to do whatever is necessary and within the bounds of the law to ensure the best results for clients. Spend less time discussing how busy you are with other clients, especially considering your fees.
I cannot begin to explain how poorly this so-called "attorney" unfairly represented me. She was only interested in dollars not my best interests. Because of her lack of guidance in my case, she led me to make a custody decision under coercion of which she was aware of, disregarding basic ethics. She had informed me that a trial would cost upwards of $25,000, which was a gross inaccuracy unfairly imploring me to settle out of court. I hope this review will save someone the grief and heartache I experienced in selecting her to "represent" me.
