I've used Deborah as my attorney as well as my family. She's gotten me everything I've asked for, plus. She is direct and to the point. She doesn't like it when irresponsible people refuse to get her the documentation that she needs to do her job. I don't blame her. That would frustrate me as well. You want results? Work WITH your attorney. Not against her. She IS tough and she doesn't take crap from people..which is exactly why I love her. And will continue to use her as our attorney. She may hurt your feelings, but good luck finding an attorney as good as she is. Best of luck! (She was my attorney for divorce and custody)
Deborah is extremely rude not only to the defendant but to me, the client. I simply dismissed the case because how rude she was to me. I called her office I which Betsy her secretary usually answers but this time Deborah answered. I began to talk and she interrupted me staying "I'm in the middle of a conference. The only reason I answered the phone was because it was ringing and ringing". Well, if she didn't want to talk to someone than maybe she shouldnt have answered the phone. She always talked down to me. She was never prepared and gave little to no advice. I hired her because I heard she was tough. As her client I didn't expect her to be that way with me.
All I can say is "do not hire her!!!" Barrington does not do her job. She has to be the rudest person I have ever met. I hired Barrington for my divorce, and ended up thinking I hired her to help my ex's lawyer, she went along with everything his lawyer wanted. Would not stand up for me.
i too had a horrible experience with debra! she didnt do what she was suppose to @ all. i did more work for my divorce then she did!! i thought she'ld be a great man hater but fools on me, i think she was more on my exhusbands side then mine! she made me lose custody of a child, she didnt turn in the papers she was suppose to! jus aweful experience!! and to think i paid her over 3000. oh and that too she ripped me off cause she charged more then she was suppose to!! and then said i missed payments which i never did and she does talk down to u like a dog! not even a dog gets treated like that!! thats forsure! so do not hire debra barrington!!
I hired Ms. Barrington for a custody and child support case over six months ago. She has scheduled meetings with my ex's attorney and my ex without informing me until the night before (of course I can't drop everything and go--I have a job!), she will not comply with my requests for documentation of my ex's income (very suspect), she has not provided me with the worksheets my ex's attorney used to calculate support (yes, she had my ex's attorney run the figures--the one who has to pay me support), and she is rude and unprofessional. She treats me as though I am ignorant (I have a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and I am a successful business person), and she does not directly answer any questions I ask her. It makes me think she just does not know the law, or she is just lazy. I am so sorry that I wasted so much money to hire her. But, I am intelligent enough to see there is only one course of action for me with this attorney. Do not make the same mistake I did. Get an attorney who is out of town if you want a good one. Stay away from the Chillicothe attorneys, period.
