About
My practice with individual clients is limited to consensual dispute resolution (settlement) of family law disputes (divorce, separation, premarital agreements), without going to court and without the intervention of third party decision makers. Such processes include working in Collaborative Practice, as Settlement Counsel and as a consulting attorney for a client in mediation. I also serve couples and families by helping them to resolve their own disputes in private and on their own terms by acting as a neutral mediator. I help people to reach fair and equitable resolutions that respect the needs of both parents and the needs of their children. I believe that people should have every opportunity to craft their own solutions when their family undergoes a transition. In my experience, this leads to better results and minimizes the emotional anf financial damage that can occur in a hostile and adversarial separation and divorce.

David is an expert, first and foremost. My ex-wife and I hired him to mediate the property-division aspect of our case. David was patience with us and guided us through the process with a steady-hand. I found his fees to be completely reasonable, and staff was very pleasant. Divorce is a difficult process. If you have to hire attorneys, mediators, etc., you want to hire not only a qualified expert but also someone who is a compassionate individual. David is a true pro and will make the process easier for you.
David helped guide me towards a fair and decent settlement, and did so allowing me to make my own decisions while giving me solid financial and legal advice. Divorce is painful and difficult. David helped with kindness, clarity and emotional support, as well as business smarts, and great negotiating skills...I was extremely lucky to have him as attorney.
David was my attorney for a collaborative divorce. The thing I liked most about David was his focus on getting to the right outcome from a human perspective. He never lost sight of the importance of the continuing relationship between my former spouse and me. His knowledge and experience were helpful in guiding me through the pros and cons of options for addressing issues, and he gave clear advice while leaving the decision to me. I have recommended David to two friends since, and expect I will refer him to others in the future.
David was amazing. Getting divorced is messy and was a first for me. David helped me understand the process and provided the sage advice that resulted in the best of all possible outcomes. 3 years later, I still look back thinking how lucky I was to have called him.
David is an outstanding attorney and mediator. He represented me in a challenging situation and his demeanor and approach are calm and collaborative.
David is currently helping me go through a complicated divorce that spans two continents. He is level-headed, intelligent, intuitive and pro-active when necessary. He's brought calm to some very tense moments in my divorce. I am happy to have found him.
I went to see David Fink on the recommendation of a firm that had been doing other kinds of work. I was about to embark on a major life change and begin a life partnership with the woman in my life. David worked very hard to make sure I fully understood the not only the legal possibilities, liabilities, and documentation required, but also my objectives in creating a legal road map for this step. I was more than pleased with the effort and the result.
In addition to having a tremendous amount of integrity, legal expertise, and experience, David is the rare professional who truly cares about his clients. He helped me get the best possible settlement under difficult circumstances and did it with a great deal of gentlemanly panache. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone.
David Fink was assigned to my ex and me as a special master to help mediate some very contentious issues between us. Initially David was very fair, and did a good job managing a very high conflict divorce. His bills however were off the charts. I began to fall behind in paying him and could not pay his bills in full. Once I fell behind in paying him David ruled 12 times against me on custody matters financial matters and even went so far as to deny my daughter medical treatment that was recommended by her doctor. He threatened me several times and when I would call him asking for help and to work on something he would remind me I owed him money. I hired an attorney and asked him to step down 12 times he never would until finally I got him removed by the Superior Court . He perjured himself in court and then asked the judge to grant him 24k in back fees I owed him. The judge only gave him half and removed him. I complained to the state BAR and they put him under the highest investigation. If you have a lot of money and time to waste hire him he will do well by you as long as you pay him off. All he does is travel to one of his 4 houses takes days weeks to get back to you and as a special master has ex parte with each party when he feels like it. He made me go to a meeting with my Ex and his new wife though I begged not to go and he was so enamored with her he kept casually touching her arm and letting her interrupt me over and over though she wasn't even part of the stipulation.
I hired David to handle my divorce. His positive reviews are questionable since I had a very different experience. He was cordial in the first meeting but his indifference, lack of cultural sensitivity and disregard for others soon became apparent. It was a mistake to hire David Fink. He will do no work and charge you for it. A poor character serving his own best interest than helping his clients who funds his many out of town trips. Select an attorney wisely and beware of greed and callousness with this one.
