About
I became an attorney to help people. I love getting to know my clients and helping them find solutions to the problems they face. Every case is different. I make it a point of getting to know my clients as I find it helps me argue their cases; a personal connection helps me tailor my advocacy to fit the unique facts presented. A personal connection also helps me identify potential challenges that may lie ahead. As a general practioner I take pride in offering a balanced and informed perspective to my clients that helps them achieve the best outcome possible in their case. I am a graduate of Reed College and Lewis & Clark Law School. I was a Lead Articles Editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review. I am admitted to practice before the Oregon State and Federal district courts. I am also an avid, all-season bicycle commuter. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and camping with my wife and daughter in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I also enjoy making delicious (if unhealthy) baked goods and collecting records, coins and stamps.

David was a very efficient attorney in my particular case that at first seemed fairly straight forward. Although my case wasn't the case of the century, David still gave me the respect as if this was a more substantial law suit. I would not hesitate to hire again or recommend David to friends and family. Thanks again David, Tony K.
David is a stand up guy and an easy to work with attorney. I found him to be very responsive, fair and understanding in his communications and work performed. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again in the future.
Mr Sorek is a great lawyer that found a solution to my debt situation that was better than I had hoped for and that all parties agreed to. He was thorough, timely in his responses, and really knows what he is doing.
David Sorek was an excellent lawyer for my divorce. He was patient and skilled at breaking down legal jargon into language I could understand. My situation had the potential to become quite dramatic. Mr. Sorek was able to keep the situation calm and under control. My divorce was settled in a reasonable time.
I hired David for a contempt case that was filed against me. He had no clue what he was doing. He told me to bring my 9 year old to court with me that he could testify (the issue was involving my son and visitation) and when the judge asked why he was there he lied and told her that my son wanted to come so I let him. He didn't admit to his lie until his closing but by then the judge had already formed her opinion of me. The judge stated that she was going to rule against me before hearing any testimony and she did even though I did nothing contemptuous. Also, David asked his girlfriend to come to the hearing without asking me first. He kept looking to her throughout the hearing and even waved a few times. When I asked him who that was he told me that it was his girlfriend and she wanted to see his first trail hearing. This was the first I had heard about his lack of experience, though through his poor performance it was more than obvious to me. Later I found out he was not a family law attorney, he was a wage law attorney- more misrepresentation. After the hearing he gave me a huge bill, quit before any judgments were filed and demanded payment in full immediately. When I confronted him about his excessive unreasonable charges and the major issue of malpractice, he filed for a hearing in fee arbitration, which I won. I would NEVER recommend David Sorek to anyone.
