About
Experience. I have over 25 years experience pursuing justice on behalf of employees - fighting institutions who engage in illegal employment practices. I have represented everyone from high-level corporate executives to administrative support staff and blue-collar workers, delivering strategic and intelligent solutions for employees faced with seemingly overwhelming challenges in the workplace. I take the pressure off of you. My law firm is dedicated to providing employees with innovative solutions, tenacious representation, and practical advice. Because I have represented both individuals and businesses, I know from experience what motivates both employees and employers in employment disputes. This dual perspective shapes not just my litigation strategies, but also my approach to resolving disputes. Can my boss really treat me like this and get away with it? Do I have to accept the way I have been treated? Employers frequently believe they have all the power - but they do not; instead individuals have certain inherent tactical advantages and rights, and employers have particular vulnerability areas and pressure points, that I know how to properly address for maximum effectiveness. I level the playing field in a practical cost-effective manner. What can I do if my employer is retaliating against me? They may think they can get away with it - but that is their mistake. Retaliation claims are frequently even more powerful and effective than discrimination claims. I know time-tested and innovative strategies that have repeatedly proven successful and that will help protect you and put you in a position of strength, not weakness, to the employer’s great surprise. Don’t know where to turn? I can help. I work to aggressively protect the rights and careers of my clients. I provide practical advice and pursue litigation and other strategies on your behalf to protect you, obtain remedies for your damages, and assist you in achieving your goals. For some individuals, and their employment situations, federal litigation is the right way to go - and I am ready, willing, and able to press forward in that direction. Other times there are other options that make sense to explore instead/ first, such as behind-the-scenes advice (employers get advice from their attorneys; why shouldn’t you?), direct verbal and written communications with the employer, contract and severance negotiation, mediation, pursuing EEOC charges, etc. Call me to briefly discuss if it makes sense for you to come in for an appointment to my Chicago Loop office to discuss your employment situation.

This attorney takes the tome to provide personalized attention and service to his clients. He never rushes to an opinion without first researching case law and opinions relevant to his clients needs. We can’t ask for a better employment law expert.
I worked for the United States Postal Service who desputed my claim. Dave Porter did a great job representing me. He was thorough and we were both ready for our hearing, which we won. He gave me much needed advice and knew the ropes. I cant thank him enough.
Attorney Porter is great. His communication skills are above and beyond. He is very knowledgeable and confident. I recommend this attorney. I was told I wouldn't win my unemployment from another attorney but hired David Porter and I won. Thanks for everything.
David Porter is an excellent attorney. I had an unemployment appeal that my former employer was appealing since I won the initial case. The employer hired an outside company. I was worried that I would not only lose future unemployment but have to pay back over $1200 in unemployment that I already received if I lost this hearing. David had excellent communication. Every time I would call him he answered the phone. We met in person to discuss the case. He advised and reviewed out a winning strategy. We had two follow up conversations, reviewing a seven page summation he had written and the points laid out . We also talked a half an hour prior to the hearing to summarize everything. We found out by the judge the day before the hearing, when the judge called us, the employer withdrew the appeal, on the same day they found out I had legal representation with David Porter. Definitely worth it A+
Wow. I can't say enough about this lawyer. All lawyers look good if you visit their websites. They know how to entice promising you miracles. My first lawyer bailed out of the contract and took my money. My sister found this lawyer recommended by Chicago Bar Association. He had to fix mishaps my first lawyer did. And he prepared himself only three days days to the hearing date. He went over each document I had with me, questioned me, took notes. He always called when he said he would. He spent time preparing me to be calm. And he fought! I didn't know if I could afford a good lawyer. I thought my employer has all the money for great representation. This lawyer has very reasonable prices and does everything great.
