My husband and I live in Big Bear Lake. We needed an attorney to handle a trust accounting issue as part of a probate matter. Our first inclination was to find an attorney in Los Angeles ("down the hill" as we say in Big Bear) because the trust involved a significant sum of money. A friend of us encouraged us to arrange a consultation with Mr. Philipson first. So, we went to his office and met with him for a free one hour consultation. He was able to handle the matter for us by the end of the week with no fanfare. His professional service exceeded our expectations. When we were meeting with him we found out that he attended Berkeley undergrad and U.C. Hastings for law school! I was thrilled we were able to find an attorney of his caliber working in our small town and I would definitely use his services again.
My husband and I hired Mr. Philipson to draft our will and also to set up a living trust and to draft our advance health care directives. He was very friendly, professional and detail-oriented. He made us feel comfortable, put our minds at ease. My husband and I both felt he really listened to our needs and then translated our wishes into writing. After going through this entire process with him, we both have great peace of mind that our affairs are in order and now we continue to enjoy our retirement!
He briefly represented me in an estate matter, then an arbitration. He was excellent in both, but his preparation and presentation in the arbitration was beyond my expectations. He kept me informed and was a genuine pleasure to work with. One of the very few attorneys that I would not only recommend, but use whenever possible.
