Then you should hire David - as consuming as a divorce can be, both emotionally and financially, put your trust in him, and he will get you through to the other side in the most effective way. I’m forever grateful to him and his team, because they helped me start a better life and future for me and my kids.
Integrity, professionalism and honesty are the words that describe David Lederman and his staff. It is very difficult to pick a divorce attorney and you never really know until you get to the end, I could not have been more pleased with my choice. I had to fire my first attorney and then hired David Lederman after a lot of interviewing. David is non emotional, organized, smart and very well respected in the family law profession. My divorce had dragged on for way too long and it would have been a lot better to have hired David day one. I could not say enough good things and he brought a timely end to a very difficult divorce. I should also say that his fees were reasonable for the work he put in and I think that this is rare in attorney world.
In a time of a great deal of stress mr. Lederman and his staff was very helpful. Mr Lederman kept me in the loop with the process. he is an attorney that knows what he is talking about and the process pretty much went how it was explained to me. Mr Lederman and his staff answered my questions quickly and at times even on the weekends. I appreciated everything they did for me
Due to privacy reasons, I am withholding my name. These are my opinions and my expressions are my legal and protected rights. Mr. Lederman was worth every single penny I paid towards my legal fees. Freedom is all I feel. It is priceless to be done.I cannot alter my past, however, I am not saddled with my future. Mr. Lederman, David, worked hard to dismiss this case. I cannot thank him enough for his years of dedication, expertise and integrity in the legal specialization in Family Law. The Family Law Court feels ... is like is a different breed. Good riddance to it also. The opposing side, the other party, had hoped to punish and decimate me with fees and destroy my good name/ reputation and my livelihood. The assumptions about me were ALL incorrect. Now I can continue to move past the situation and carry on with clarity. I “dodged” a bullet, and am very thankful for having an attorney like Mr. Lederman. He was wonderful, and his services were A+ and even more..
My name is Jerusa, and recently, I came to face one of the most horrifying break up in my life with a man who not only became frightening and threatening, but did refuse to return a highly valued personal property of mine resulting in holding me emotionally and mentally hostage . This became a severe case of Domestic Violence including physical / emotional abuse on me. I became terrified for my life. It became an extremely complicated case. I was referred to the David Lederman’s firm by a friend of mine who is a judge. I have no words how grateful I am for the legal interventions from all the staff of David Lederman’s firm including all lawyers, reception, paralegals and administration. They are all outstanding, knowledgeable and plus, I felt understood and treated with empathy, compassion, and I was able to gain safety for my life. Mr Lederman’s firm is amazing and highly worth it. It is with all my integrity and dignity that I most definitely recommend Mr. Lederman’s firm for any domestic family dispute. I am and will be forever grateful for all that his firm and himself did in my case. Also, how Mr. Lederman himself dealt mindfully and sharp with my case. Mr. Lederman was able to close my case very successfully including the full return of my valued personal property in short time with out this case to be hanging a long which resulted in protecting my safety and my health. Blessings to Mr. Lederman’s firm and Mr. Lederman’s strength and capacity. Respectfully submitted Jerusa
David was kind enough to answer a question over the phone. I am sure this kindness is indicative of how much he cares for his clients.
David assured me after my first consultation with him that he could get me more time with my daughter. And after mediation, I wasn't sure that was going to happen. The mediator had only recommended my custody increase by one overnight. And after a couple delays that stretched the case out over 6 months, my court date arrived. Having previous bad experiences in family court, coupled with the fact that mediation went poorly, I was extremely nervous,. However David performed brilliantly. He argued my case to the (female) judge who was sympathetic to a single father and the fact my custody was very little, and had not increased in eight years. The judge agreed to increase my custody by not one or two days but three overnights a week. I could not have done this myself. I had tried and tried for years to gain more custody representing myself with zero results. David and his staff thoroughly prepared me for court from beginning to end. He was available to me for any question I had usually within 24 hours. I cannot recommend David Lederman and his staff enough. Excellent family attorney!
To say that my case is high-conflict is an understatement. There were issues of domestic violence, substance abuse and allegations of child abuse that were all present prior to the separation. I hired David to represent me in my divorce and child custody issues based on a recommendation I had received from another attorney. From the beginning David made sure that I understood the process, was informed and let me know that I was in control of my case. With that said, he offered his expertise and guidance (I wish I had listened more from the outset.) Once engaged, he was the only attorney that I used. (In stark contrast, the opposing party had 5 attorneys.) Due to the complexity of the case, the time and financial impact, I had to move to a limited scope basis and even in this capacity, David was extremely responsive and ensured that I had the best representation in front of the judge. The case is still not completely settled but at least there is a resolution of custody and some peace for my children. I owe that in large part to David and his entire team.
This review is overdue, but it's been a year since my final settlement conference and I'm still trying to fix the mistakes Mr. Lederman made in my divorce. I've had to hire other attorneys to correct multiple oversights and errors he made in my case. It's cost me an additional year (and counting), and many times more than his initial estimate. I would seriously consider taking Mr. Lederman to court for malpractice, but I still have my hands full with the divorce he did a remarkably poor job on. I originally hired David based on his reputation. I had a similar experience to another negative review here. I was working with another attorney at their firm, and was reassigned to David. Here are the reasons for my negative review: - of the 5 things he requested in my settlement conference, he got me zero. Based on the status quo requirements in California for health insurance, he may have even gotten me less than what was legally required. Looking over the conference transcript, he told the judge that MediCal would provide the specialty benefits I'd need (it doesn't). In the transcript, the judge replied with skepticism to that proposal. - Mr. Lederman left me hanging with an outstanding bill for thousands of dollars my ex was court-ordered to pay before the final settlement conference, despite my having emailed Mr. Lederman multiple times to get it resolved beforehand. - After many months of assiduous billing by his firm, and extensive discovery showing that my ex had the funds to pay my legal fees, I asked about how to get my ex to pay. His firm hadn't yet gotten around to asking for support or attorney's fees, and never did: something both the opposing counsel and the judge remarked on. - when trying to get my ex to declare known, proven, and highly visible accounts for the initial financial disclosure, Mr. Lederman eventually gave up, instructing me to settle the divorce with him, and pursue the omitted assets in a separate lawsuit. - The opposing counsel pressed for a resolution conference three weeks after the initial meet-and-confer conference. The judge said this wasn't enough time to get outstanding issues finalized, but Mr. Lederman insisted he would "make do". The judge was right, and now I've had to hire other attorneys for the subpoenas and discovery that should have happened before the final settlement conference, not after. - his firm spent 6 weeks hammering out a privacy order they recommended to protect sensitive information. Later I saw that the privacy order they drew up required any confidential papers to be marked as such before they were filed. To my knowledge, not a single paper was marked as confidential, and now my private information is part of the public record. I have to hire another attorney to take care of this. - In terms of the client preparation he mentions, I never received a case strategy or cost analysis, despite asking for it. The afternoon before the settlement conference hearing, I had to call his office to find out how to log on to the video conference. I had emailed David about it earlier that day, and had no response. I hoped he'd show up, but wasn't entirely sure he would. - this was all with assiduous and extensive billing from his firm. Going over the bills, I'd find entries for other cases that had slipped into my bill. I need to take responsibility for my part, and I stayed with his firm when there were multiple red flags. But, I've never been divorced before, and I trusted David. There are many qualified family law attorneys in the Bay Area, with no negative reviews, who are competing for your business. I understand my experience may be an outlier, but there's no reason to take the risk when looking to hire a divorce attorney. Divorce is an extraordinarily stressful period in one's life, and my experience with Mr. Lederman made it more so. Choosing him as an attorney prolonged the process, and considerably upped the cost of mine. I hope you find a more reliable advocate.
Doesn't even deserve one star! Terrible! after meeting with an attorney named sharmeela with this firm I felt very confident, but 2 days before my court date they swap sharmeela for David (for a higher price of course). I agree because they sold it as "he has great experience." The day of court was a disaster. David CLEARLY did not do his homework and did not know the facts at all. He literally told the judge he knew nothing about the case and couldn't even argue why I should be granted what I was asking and basically asked the judge "Come on...its only two days" the judge was not impressed and ruled against me. He also was unable to stop the opposing party from presenting false facts. An utterly pathetic performance for any attorney. so after paying $12k and practically losing custody of my child I couldn't even get court orders, paperwork, or even a call back from this office. My court date was in January, second week of march and no paperwork or explanation for what happened. I let this pathetic incompetent firm go. the best workers are the front desk max and the billing department trish. They are the only ones who call you back. I didn't hire a front desk clerk and a billing department. I wanted an experienced attorney but I got a lazy joke who basically stole over $6k and lost my case. By the way, my record barely has a speeding ticket, the opposing party just got out of rehab, anger management, and has dvro against her..should have been a slam dunk..but was lost because of his lazy incompetence and not doing his homework like a real experienced attorney should have.

Terrible! after meeting with an attorney named sharmeela with this firm I felt very confident, but 2 days before my court date they swap sharmeela for David (for a higher price of course).

By the way, my record barely has a speeding ticket, the opposing party just got out of rehab, anger management, and has dvro against her..should have been a slam dunk..but was lost because of his lazy incompetence and not doing his homework like a real experienced attorney should have.
