When I started to practice law 37 years ago, my father, also a lawyer, offered me some thoughtful and exceptionally valuable advice: listen carefully, do your homework, and above all, maintain a sense of humor-because you are going to need it. I have to admit that Dad was right and his wise words resonate with me daily. Attentively listening to my clients and meticulously preparing their cases are indeed the hallmarks of success for both my clients and myself.Working closely with each client, I identify ways to help them feel at ease. It helps establish approachability, confidence, and most importantly, trust. And an extension of the trust between my clients and myself is availability. I am that lawyer who gets on the phone with clients even on a Saturday because I understand that sometimes questions can't wait until the following Monday during regular business hours. I am that lawyer who may be dressed casually around the office but make no mistake, I am always a passionate advocate for my clients, no matter the time, the place, the attire. David helped me navigate aspects of a particularly aggressive and non-standard non-compete agreement in light to new Massachusetts law. He broke down the legal problems into manageable chunks and considered them on a best case and worst-case scenario. He shed light on the legal grey areas particularly where the interpretation of the law is still evolving. David stuck to the problem, was open and friendly to discussion, and answered questions with a great degree of expertise. Further discussion and follow up went beyond the call of duty.
