Eric was very patient and helped me through the stress of our case. Whenever I had a question, he was quick to reply. He did a lot of research for us and was very precise in his work.
Eric overturned my X husbands attempt to drop my maintenance fees based on our divorce decree. Eric did the Quadro paper work to divide our retirement account after our divorce.
I hired Mr. Leavitt very last minute to step in and help protect my children. He calmly took all the information and went to work immediately. I was terrified and Eric was very patient in explaining what my options were. He worked diligently on my case, involving the prosecutor when it became necessary, and working long past closing time on a Friday to ensure everything was in place to protect my kids. His staff is knowledgeable and equally dedicated to serving their clients. They never made me feel like I was being ridiculous or overreacting.
Mr. Leavitt represented me in my parenting plan modification. This wasn't a straightforward modification as the old parenting plan was from out of state and had never been followed. Mr. Leavitt was always levelheaded and extremely helpful. He gave me sound legal advice when I needed it. In the hearing he represented me well and was very knowledgeable about the law and how it specifically applied to our case. He was on time and professional. I found that his office was always courteous and pleasant to work with. Calls were returned in a timely matter (it's important to remember as a client that you don't always have the biggest fire to put out). Mr. Leavitt is very honest and doesn't try to 'win' way by being tricky or dishonest. My documents were always submitted on time. Billing was very fair, he was respectful that his time costs me money. With confidence, I would highly recommend Mr. Leavitt!
I had the privilege of Mr. Leavitt representing me during my divorce. A process of which I anticipated to be stressful and excruciating was minimized as a result of Mr. Leavitt's genuine demeanor to help me. His care and understanding was evident from the beginning of our first consultation to the conclusion of the case. He answered all my questions thoroughly, but more importantly made sure I understood his response as well as the next course of action which I found extremely comforting. I'm truly grateful for the priceless peace of mind Mr. Leavitt and his staff helped me achieve with a sincere recommendation of his services. As I'm confident others will share the magnitude of gratitude I feel! Thank you again Mr. Leavitt and staff!
Eric was terrific. He was there for me at all times. Day and night. Prompt, understanding, intelligent and thoughtful. I would recommend and have recommended him for anyone needing an attorney.
Mr. Leavitt offered me a strategy that included him giving me drugs to take to be calm on the stand. I could not, in good faith, continue with this man after I knew his faith was all for show and he would do something illegal to benefit our case.
Eric Leavitt started out very supportive when I initially hired him to handle my case; however, it went downhill quickly after that. At my first meeting with him after my consultation, he took a call from another client of his and not only wasted my time but proceeded to bad mouth his client after hanging up the phone, calling her demeaning names and saying she's "crazy," this left a bad taste for me, wondering how he spoke about me when I wasn't around to hear it. While waiting for another appointment to start weeks later, he and his secretary were overheard saying discriminatory comments about another female client that was having an emotional crisis due to her situation (details that should have never been discussed in front of me and with me). He then proceeded to apologize as we started our scheduled meeting late, stating, "I'm sorry, I don't usually discuss other clients in front of clients," Fool me once... He not only wastes his clients time by taking other client calls in the middle of a meeting, he is also extraordinarily unprofessional and shares info about other clients that should be kept confidential according to the law.
At the initial consultation I paid in full the requested retainer with his promise to email me the client agreement along with a list of confidential documents I would need to provide copies of. Over a month later i received a rude email telling me he was not able to begin working on my case yet because I hadn't returned the signed agreement he claimed he gave to me in person at the initial consult. I reminded him I had not been given the agreement, he was supposed to email it and I hadnt received anything yet. When I met with him in person he, again, insisted I had been given the agreement in person. I asked him why would I have taken it with me after paying him instead of just signing it right then and there knowing it would hold up my case? There's no reason I would have ever paid him then walked out with the agreement unsigned! He informed me at that point he had received the entire case file but had not reviewed it at all, then went on to say he doubted anything that I was telling him was actually going on because he knew the people and they wouldnt ever do anything like I was trying to claim. Everything I was telling him was backed up by the court file he admittedly never even looked at! He still had the nerve to ask if I wanted to continue on with his representation after stating very clearly he had already concluded I was a liar. Then he riduculed my appearance and implied I was not in my right mind even calling me a paranoid - all without ever once actually viewing my court file. Obviously I decided not to keep him retained and was given approximately 70% of my initial payment back. The rest was supposedly to cover copies of documents that did not come from the physical file but via email from someone at the Bar Association and several of those documents were nothing to do with the case at hand, including divorce papers from 2006 that were of zero consequence to the case. Approximately an hour before our last meeting he forwarded over 20 emails with attached copies of random documents that all came from an administrative assistant at the Bar Association and an invoice charging me for each one and his billed time to forward the emails. The file he was to review is so large it is contained in TWO files, one nearly 3 inches thick and the other around 1 inch thick, yet on his desk at that last meeting he had a single manilla folder with less than 40 documents in it, claiming he had the entire file in his possession. It was all bad and very shady to say the least. I am appalled at the blatant disrespect and extremely unprofessional attitude displayed to a paying client and he wasted five weeks of my time with his utter nonsense
