I talked to David about my moms POA. He was straight forward with his answers and advice. He pointed me in the right direction on how to proceed with my issue. I highly recommend David if you need a good attorney. I will use David in the future as the situation arises. David was very professional and confident in our meeting.
David willingly prepared these papers for someone who did not have funds for them. He was thorough, friendly and quick. He definitely expressed knowledge of the product and process
David was referred to us from a friend. Due to some medical issues we needed his expertise to cover our medical care and estate planning. David asked questions to determine our needs and what was the best plan of action and proceeded to complete the legal documents we needed in a timely manner. He answered all our questions, was patient and professional.
A trusted advisor referred us to David Bearman so we scheduled a consultation to discuss our 1998 revocable family trust. We wanted to add a special needs clause to benefit one of our sons who had sustained brain damage. David reviewed our trust while we were in his office. Imagine our surprise when he pointed out that our old trust exposed us to a potential $69,000 Oregon State income tax. Since the main purpose of a trust is to shelter one's assets from excess taxation and probate expenses, we were dismayed. We immediately engaged attorney Bearman to redraft our trust. He sent us home with a "homework" bundle of forms to complete so our personal wishes and financial needs would be reflected in the new trust. A few weeks later he sent us a draft of the trust for our review and scheduled a follow-up appointment to discuss any questions or concerns we might have. At that meeting he personally entered the few changes we needed directly into the trust document and printed a copy. David then went over the entire trust document (ALL 65 PAGES!) to be sure we understood the legal terminology and how it would affect our estate. We signed the documents and they were notarized. Then he gave us another "homework" package with personalized forms and detailed instructions on how to transfer our various assets into the trust. What a brilliant courtesy as this is often the most intimidating part of funding a new trust. Needless to say, we are thrilled with David Bearman's expertise, efficiency and concern for our welfare. As for the bill, it was less than his initial estimate and worth every penny for the peace of mind and asset protection. One more comment: David is quite witty and full of anecdotes that explain the need for various trust clauses so expect to be entertained when you engage his services.
He did a great job with my estate planning. very willling to listen and answer questions. Very thorough, organized and well informed. Additionally, he does not over charge for services and willing to work with your budget
I was referred to the law firm that Mr. Bearman is associated with in Salem. My mom recently passed and I was in the dark about what a Trust indicated regarding responsibilities and distributions. After our initial visit, Mr. Bearman looked over the Trust and communicated with another attorney that was familiar in this case that was outside the Salem area. Our next meeting, he answered all my questions using layman's terms and informed me of the outcome of his research. I have retained Mr. Bearman as my attorney and have recommended him to others that might be in need of this kind of service.
David is very thoughtful and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything to me and showed me that having a plan is making sure that I am taken care of during my life. Thank you. I'll be sending all my friends to him.
David did an amazing job making the whole process easy and memorable! Highly recommended!
