David N. Baumgartner grew up in Berne, Indiana, and graduated from South Adams High School.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business and Economics from Bluffton University and a Juris Doctor Degree from Indiana University - Indianapolis.  Dave was admitted to the practice of law in 1985 in the State of Indiana, and in United States District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.  He is a member of the Adams County Bar Association, the Probate, Trust and Real Property Section and Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association, and the American Agricultural Law Association.Following college and law school Dave and his wife chose to return to their roots in Berne as a desirable place to raise a family.  Dave serves as both Berne City Attorney and Geneva Town Attorney and enjoys contributing to the development and progress of these communities.  Dave serves as a member of the Berne Rotary Club, President of Berne Community Development Corporation, Board of Trustees of Bluffton University, and Board Chair of First Bank of Berne.The element of practicing law that Dave enjoys the most is assisting clients through transformative times in their lives and interacting directly with clients every day.
