I came to Mr. Genis afraid and confused. My lawyer at the time had just told me that the best deal I could get was jail time and a suspended license. I was innocent and was determined to fight but my lawyer at the time was advising me not to. Not ready to give up I sought a meeting with Mr. Genis. The police and prosecutor’s case does not have to be perfect to get a guilty plea or conviction. However if you have Mr. Genis on your side, they will have no choice but to meet that standard. Speaking of standards as some of you know, aside from having to go through the court system, unless your case went to trial and you got found not guilty; you still have to have a dmv hearing. My charges got reduced to a charge that did not have anything to do with driving. That did not stop the DMV from upholding my suspension. They have a lower bar to meet that Mr. Genis can explain far better than I can but just know that those hearings are very hard to win. Mr. Genis again, requiring the DMV to be perfect in their arguments was able to negotiate that my license be reinstated.
