If I could give 100 stars I would. Mr. Stotter is easy to speak with and was able to resolve my FOIA issue. I highly recommend him.
Mr. Stotter was very responsive to my inquiry and provided great information.
Mr. Stotter has handled my daughter's CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad) case successfully; this was a very challenging case during almost 4 years. He helped me retrieve my FOIA records and really used his professionalism to deal with a US Consulate overseas; his support and advice were very relieving (I was so desperate ) despite the distance from where I live ( Maryland ) I really felt myself very close to him during the whole process. I really recommend Mr.Stotter to anyone who has a serious matter. I greatly appreciate his professionalism.
Many years ago, not too long into Dan's legal career, my wife and I hired him for an "OJ" case; a criminal case that had to be pursued through civil means. Although the alleged crimes involved white collar offenses rather than violent offenses, the emotions and confrontational feelings were extreme and the case was quite complex. (Eventually appealed to the Oregon Supreme Court.) We won about 90% of the verdict. Dan's performance in this difficult case was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, cool, thoughtful, able to work under pressure, and creative. Our experience with him as an attorney was very good.
Mr. Stotter recently assisted me with some advice regarding a complex legal matter. I found him to be responsive and exceptionally knowledgeable about key cases in the field. He offers a free consultation that breaks down your legal issues into ones that are clear to understand. I would definitely contact him again and recommend to others.
Mr. Stotter displayed characteristics that are not typical of the average attorney, he provided straight forward, direct, and honest feedback and opinions of a described FOIA issue during the free consult he provided. He also displayed flexibility in examining options that would be available for him to interject on behalf of the client at various stages of the process. I have dealt with many attorneys, and say that I highly recommend this one.
Many years ago my wife and I were involved with a very complicated and difficult (and almost impossible to describe briefly) real estate transaction involving real estate fraud. We were not motivated so much by our personal experience but by a desire to stop an activity we believed was hurting many other people over many years. Our attempts to involve white collar law enforcement had not been successful at that time. Dan and his then partner took on our case on a mostly contingency basis. It led to a spectacular, dramatic, and lengthy civil trial. Dan worked with great energy, imagination, and dedication and pulled off a spectacular win, appealed (and upheld all the way) to the Oregon Supreme Court. I have no hesitation in giving him the highest possible recommendation.
The day we met Dan at his office, we knew he could take care of our needs. He was very knowlegeable about the whole process on our temorary land use permit. He guided us through every step. Not only did he treat us like we were human beings he coached us in the process. He worked very well with the staff from Lane County and that was a big plus for us, as we were changing what things we could do on our property. He was very professional and at the same time was making sure that we did everything in a cost efficient way. We know that most definetly in the future if we ever need an attorney we will call Dan.
Dan Stotter took my organization's case when no one else would. Working pro bono over a period of several years (!), he created legal precendent and a decision in our favor. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If you are seeking a decent, patient, and highly skilled FOIA lawyer, you have found one in Dan Stotter.
Worked closely on case, answered questions, and followed through on legal details efficiently. Passionate on defending Constitutional law, relative to the First Amendment. Recommended highly.
