Having bought & sold 9 homes, I've dealt with many attorneys and would like to share my experience with attorney Schopick. Most closings are simple: confirm payoff amount, accrued taxes & interest, & prepare a closing statement. My expectations were simple: 1) Provide good communication: 2) Ensure an accurate Closing statement; 3) Offer legal advice when appropriate. Mr. Schopick failed in all respects:. 1) Terrible communication. Phone calls went unanswered as did an inquiry re additional legal work. 2) When the Purchase Agreement was presented for review, no legal advice was offered re potential problems of delay or options to minimize problems. 3) Inaccurate Closing statement. It is my opinion that Mr. Schopick had no interest in me as a client; no interest in offering legal advice; no interest in house closings. His inattention to detail spoke volumes. His primary concern appeared to be the minimization of effort for his $1,000 fee
