We have worked with Dan Parsons for a number of years as my parents have aged and he has been a tremendous help. From talking thru how to handle Power of Attorney to wills to applying for Medicaid to handling family dynamics, Dan has been a wealth of information and support to us. We have recommended Dan to many people over the years and will continue to do so often. Thank you Dan and your team!
Our family needed assistance navigating the world of nursing homes and public aid for our mother. Mr. Parsons met with us and helped us better understand what we were getting into. When the time comes to take this step, we will be contacting him.
I was referred to Dan when a county facility my mother was a resident of, was unfairly trying to discharge her. Dan represented us at a hearing, and we were successful at preventing the discharge. Going forward, Dan guided us through the complicated process of state aid, eventually resulting in a substantial refund from the facility for overpayment. Dan was instrumental in helping us when we didn't know where to turn and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of senior services.
My husband and I spoke with Michelle at Dan Parsons’ office about our case of health insurance neglect and denial of surgery. Michelle was friendly, explained how the process worked and actually offered input on our case instead of just suggesting we hire the firm and see how it all plays out. Our conclusion is: If Dan's staff is as knowledgeable as Michelle, Dan will be a good attorney to represent our case!
Very disappointed. Unresponsive. Called me 5 minutes before our meeting was scheduled to try to cancel after I had been in the car for 30 minutes! Paid the retainer and didn’t get much of anything out of it. Hired to get my dad on public aide. Three months later he passed and we were left with the bills after he told us we would be covered- we weren’t. Stay away!
I hired Parsons September 2014 to assist me in transferring my mother's guardianship from AR to IL and misc. estate planning matters. I met with him and he took my retainer. From that point on he did absolutely nothing without my constant prompting, inquiries, emails, phone calls, etc. I am a certified paralegal and, in order to help speed things along, I even offered to prepare whatever documents were required, with his input and oversight! He finally did part of what I hired him to do (almost 3 months after I hired him). Now, almost 1 year later I asked him if he had completed the transfer of guardianship and he STILL had not completed the job. I fired him and will look for an attorney who actually does the work they were paid to do in a reasonable amount of time and who VALUES and APPRECIATIES his/her clients. Oh, and when I went to pick up what was left of my retainer? HE HAD MOVED HIS OFFICE AND NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO NOTIFY ME!!! All I could do was laugh...what more did I expect from this man? STAY AWAY FROM PARSONS!
I see that this attorney is still giving talks at senior centers and nursing homes. My mother hired him and paid the entire fee--over five thousand--upfront. Then she and her grown children spent the next 3 1/2 years trying to get Parsons to do the job he was hired to do. He took weeks to respond to phone calls or e-mails, and took frequent vacations when nothing happened at all on Mom's case. Once out of desperation I politely asked him for his cell phone #, and he angrily replied that he never gives it out.
