About

Attorney Cuppett was born in a small town in the mountains of Western Maryland in 1974.  As an undergraduate in college, he majored in philosophy, studying such diverse topics as ethics, formal and informal logic, metaphysics, philosophy of law, political philosophy, epistomology, and philosophy of language.  After receiving his undergraduate degree, graduating summa cum laude and receiving several awards in Philosophy, he immediately began law school.  In law school, Mr. Cuppett took an early interest in personal injury law and co-authored a law review article involving insurance bad faith law.  He received several awards in law school, including awards for receiving the highest grade in Torts II, Professional Responsibility (lawyer ethics), Property II,  and International and Comparative Law Seminar, was a member of the West Virginia Law Review and graduated 5th in his class leading to induction into the Order of the Coif.     After law school, Mr. Cuppett practiced five years in northern West Virginia.  During that time he exclusively handled automobile accident and other personal injury, medical malpractice, and employment discrimination cases.  He also prepared basic Wills and Trusts.  In the fall of 2004 Mr. Cuppett moved with his wife to Montreal, Quebec where she completed her medical residency in 2007.  He began offering services as a consultant on personal injury law in northern New York and northern Vermont in 2004.  During this time he also wrote a book for non-lawyers on the topic of personal injury law.  It is meant not as a do-it-yourself guide, but rather a handbook for people who have attorneys representing them in personal injury matters and want to have a better understanding of the process.  The book was released in March 2008 and is titled:  So You've Been in an Accident, Now What?: A Practical Guide to Personal Injury Law was published.  Click here for more details.    In January, 2006 Mr. Cuppett officially became an associate attorney with the Law Office of Mark Schneider in Plattsburgh, New York and in 2007 moved from Montreal to Plattsburgh.  In 2009 Mr. Cuppett moved with his family to McMinnville, Oregon where he continues to consult with the Law Office of Mark Schneider as "Of Counsel" and has also opened a personal injury and Social Security disability appeals practice.     His experience as a personal injury and disability lawyer, as well as his ability to comfort clients throughout the difficult litigation process make him an excellent asset to have in your corner.  Call or Email Dan Today.

Without his help my case for SSD would have ended up with a denial. He was well prepared and never overlooked the details. The details important to winning my case. Also having help with turning in documents wasn’t so bad either. I would recommend him to anyone struggling with this process.

I was referred to Mr. Cuppett (Dan) by a friend. From our first phone conversation Dan has been very positive and courteous, accessible by phone and in person, Since Covid 19 we have had to communicate by phone, which has worked out perfectly. Dan has taken me through each step of my case and answered all of my never ending questions with great expertise and patience. His vast knowledge of the legal system and guidance has helped me to continue when I was ready to give up. Thanks to Dan’s help, my case had a positive outcome. I highly recommend Daniel Cuppett for legal services. He’s the best!

When you hire a lawyer, you want and need someone who is on your side, and will do everything possible to win your case. Daniel Cuppett has met and exceeded my expectations with his expertise in matters of applying for disability. Instead of feeling like I was "just another client", I felt he was genuinely looking after my best interests. Dan is there for you, creatively finding the best solution for your situation. Dan is a skilled manager of complex issues, working tenaciously to reach a positive conclusion in my case. Dan is focused and an empathetic listener, who made overcoming obstacles seem easy. His solutions were clearly "out of box" ideas and so, in my subjective opinion, Dan is an excellent problem solver. When completing a meeting, I always felt confident Dan was familiar with the judicial landscape. Dan gave me honest and direct feedback, clearly outlining next steps in language that made me comfortable with the conclusion we were after. If you are looking for a people person, whom you can cultivate a warm and friendly rapport, then look no further.

Dan is a first class lawyer. He is not only knowledgeable handling personal injuries and perhaps other types of cases he is a down to earth person that will treat you with kindness, respect and compassion. He understands first hand personal injury as written by himself as an author through his book titled "So You've Been In An Accident, Now What?" His book not only keeps you informed of the process he will personally as well. Lawyers have secretaries and paralegals to go through in general, Dan, is not afraid to answer any and all e-mails and phone calls in a professional, courteous and best of all prompt manner.
