About
For me, being a lawyer is all about helping people. I like helping people who are injured by the negligent or intentional acts of others. I like helping people who have been taken advantage of by others. I like helping people use the law to fight for what is fair. This is what practicing law is all about.

I was referred to Cory by an attorney that had dropped my case. That attorney had only the highest opinion of Cory and has used him for when he needed representation. From reading his bio to meeting him for the first time, it's clear that he is a real person that has a firm grasp on the struggles of the injured with one hand and a firm grasp on the law with the other hand. I had a case that was very complicated and had been accepted and rejected by numerous attorneys. When he agreed to take me on, it was the eleventh hour of the statute of limitations and he came across as entirely undaunted. He asked questions that none of the other (six or more) attorneys I'd met with had ever brought up, he truly listened to what I had to say, took the time to understand the parts he was less familiar with, and offered the kind of advice and counsel you would expect from him if you were related. Cory clearly wants to help people and hasn't lost sight of that after law school. He was there to answer my questions and be my compass through some rough waters, even when there was nothing in it for him in return. If you want someone that is sharp, responsive, personable, makes you feel like you're their only client, and truly cares about you and your outcomes as a person he should be the only call you make. I only wish he practiced every sort of law so that I could only ever use him for my legal needs. His staff is also very responsive, organized, and kind. They're organized, using technology to both their advantage and that of their clients. This team works together well. In the past I have experienced attorneys and firms that tell you everything you want to hear in order to get you to sign and then the level of service and competency plummets once you're on board. This firm is one of honesty and integrity, they are good for their word and I trust them wholeheartedly (first time I've ever said that about a lawyer or firm). Look no further than Bilton Law Firm!
Cory Bilton is a skillful and consummately professional advocate. When my centenarian mother suffered a broken femur after being dropped by her caregiver, the home care agency was not only negligent during the emergency, but also completely unresponsive to requests for insurance compensation. Cory was skillful in all aspects of his work on my mother’s behalf. He is quick to assess a situation and to develop and implement an effective response; he is also generous with his time, carefully explaining his approach and responding to all client questions. Cory effectively combines compassion and objectivity to bring results for his clients. I wholeheartedly recommend him to you as a wise and effective counsel.
He was very kind and patient. He also answered all of my questions, which was incredibly helpful!
I consulted Attorney Bilton on a personal injury matter. He was diligent and represented my interest very well in the case. Due to his expert advisement recovery far exceeded my expectations! Thank you Cory Bilton!
Throughout the entire legal process, Mr. Bilton was professional, courteous, demonstrated relevant experience, and communicated case updates promptly. His level of engagement was consistent and Mr. Bilton kept the momentum going after picking up my case from another attorney. The outcome was favorable and much appreciated.
I hired Cory to handle negotiations with an insurance company after I was injured in a bicycle accident where I was "doored" while passing a car that was parked in a bike lane, severely damaging my bike, knocking me unconscious and requiring transport to a hospital emergency room. Cory was professional, well-organized, efficient, knowledgeable, personable and very easy to work with. He explained clearly everything I needed to know about the legal provisions, insurer goals and tactics and steps in the process of pursuing the case with both the insurer and in court. He kept me informed every step of the way on his negotiations with the insurer, clearly stated his opinion about how we should proceed and answered my questions before we decided jointly what to do next. He also helped me prepare for a deposition, provided a good description of what to expect in subsequent court proceedings and ended up negotiating a settlement with the insurer that I think is fair and that I'm very happy with.
Mr. Bilton represented me in an insurance claim for a bicycle accident that occurred in May 2015. I was riding my bicycle on the W&OD trail on Back to Work Day to attend celebrations at the newly opened Wiehle metro station. I was crossing with another bicycler from east to west when a driver ran the crosswalk on Wiehle Avenue on a red light despite numerous signs warning that the crosswalk should be kept clear. I suffered a concussion and two pelvic fractures. The driver stopped only to give me his name, phone number, and insurance agency because another driver left his car to help me. The driver then left the scene of the accident when the light turned green and would not respond to my calls. The insurance company (USAA) claimed that we were equally at fault because I was "speeding" and the driver ran the crosswalk. I consulted Mr. Bilton to represent me to USAA because USAA refused to contact me or compensate me in any way. Mr. Bilton was very attentive to the facts I presented and pursued USAA to obtain retribution for my injuries and damages. He obtained compensation that was fair and equitable and in a timely manner. I sincerely appreciate all that he did for me. The settlement he obtained was reasonable and fair. I would recommend Mr. Bilton to anyone who has suffered a personal injury that is not being compensated fairly.
Mr. Bilton was my attorney for a PI case. Throughout the process I grew frustrated with his lack of organization and communication. I didn't learn much of his failures until towards the end of the case after he withdrew. He withdrew because I threatened to file a complaint with the BAR. I learned 6 weeks before the trial that Mr. Bilton had not deposed anyone in my case. I learned that he had not requested the proper doctor's notes in order to understand my injuries. I learned that he was not communicating with my doctors when I was contacted by an expert witness, a house counsel and one of my own doctors complaining that Mr. Bilton was simply not responding to their emails or calls. Mr. Bilton also failed to hire appropriate expert witnesses. As part of his agreement he was obligated to hire experts but he tried to tell me that it's normal to use my own doctors as experts which is never done because they can't provide a bias opinion. This essentially was why my case was destroyed. Not only did the stress send me to the hospital but his cruelty and lack of disregard for how his action impact my life has hurt my entire family. If you decide to hire him, I would ask him for his trial record because he loses more than he wins. I would ask him what experts he works with and I would make sure your contract states specifically that he is to hire third party experts and not try to use your doctors.
