I chose Dale Smith to represent me because he called me immediately after I contacted him. He was friendly and concerned. He took the time to get to know my situation and actually listened to me. I was kept in the loop through the entire process and had my questions answered quickly. He alleviated so much of my worry and stress.
I was already bankrupt and he made it very good for me
I like Dale as a person and as a lawyer. I've worked with lawyers before. Some lawyers make me nervous with wanting things to be done quickly and I feel like I'm holding them up. Dale is relaxed, comfortable to talk to, explains the bankruptcy process thoroughly and gets right to work. When I call with concerns he gets back to me right away if it's something I need to know right away. When he doesn't get back to me right away it's because it wasn't anything I needed to worry about. I think maybe some people have control issues and are having trouble letting someone else handle their financial problems. If I wanted somebody to hold my hand, I'd go see a priest or someone to console me. I want him to give my case the attention, not me. I trust him to take care of it.
“I filled out the questionnaire on the Oregon Fresh Start website. Much to my surprise I actually got a call from Dale Smith who explained everything to me and was very compassionate to our situation. It was obvious when we met with the trustee that Dale is respected and the kind of lawyer you want on your side. If you are considering bankruptcy Dale Smith is the right lawyer to call. He and his staff have been excellent to deal withâ€
I would get 5 or 6 calls from creditors every day... Mr. Smith answered all of my questions about the difference between chapter 7 and 13 and which would would best help me... Any time I sent Mr. Smith an e-mail I got a prompt response... I realized that he was busy, but so would be anyone else who was good at what they did... He has done it for 30 years and helped me a great deal... I'm on my way with a Fresh Start
I liked this guy he did a wonderful knowledgable job with out all of the fuss of constant conact. He knows his business just give him what he needs and let him do the rest!
Had to really keep on them..when I didnt turn a needed document in they didnt let me know I had to find out on my own. Bad communication...takes days to get a response. Had to call and call and email and email. My case isnt done yet so outcome remains to be seen. After three months have never actually spoken with Dale just with his assistants. Really have the ride their case to make sure they are on top of things. Personally I think this man is too busy and takes on way to much. I think he knows what he is doing just too many eggs in one basket.
Good communication until after filing and agreeing to payment. Then had serious problems getting any sort of response. Gave excuses of being too busy to respond. Over 1 week now and no answer so far... Paid close to $5,000 for ch13 and have paid over $1400 in additional fees. Would never hire again.
I thought i was going to get reliable service being from a bigger city where any other Bankruptcy Lawyer was rude. Sent all my information online put my husband on although i never said to. Had to email several times to get them to put on the correct information. First Red Flag no responses, Lost my paperwork - didn't include a huge amount of information. Didn't come to my hearing sent some other person not even from his office. Had to email /call several times to be reassured over certain details only heard back short rude emails from unassertive assistants. After i filed my landlord kept trying to collect debt i put on my bankruptcy. Called them , emailed them - did not even show interest that what they were trying to do was illegal and being my lawyer should have vested interest in this. Emailed him all documentation - just responded what do you want to do. UM you tell me LAWYER??? Had the nerve to ask for money after that with no words of what they are doing is wrong etc. Still dealing with the matter months later...thanks for filling in the boxes on my paperwork..i could have done that and kept my 1200 bucks.
Dealing with Dale has been a disaster. It takes forever for a response, didn't keep us up to date with what has been going on...had to take a credit counseling class TWICE because his staff was not on top of things. We has EMAIL and SNAIL MAILED paperwork to his office at least twice, and he claims he never got it or needs it again. In my opinion, really unprofessional, would not even consider hiring again for any reason.
