Dabney has his ways, granted, but you won't find a more knowledgeable attorney in this area! I've known him for years, personally & professionally, & I can honestly say that I've hardly ever seen him look up information pertaining to the law...he knows it like the back of his hand, even if it's been amended. I think his only downfalls are his office "help" & the fact he doesn't always make the client feel like he's working on their case. He's not the type to explain everything in great detail, make multiple phone calls & write numerous letters to you updating you on your case. He may only meet with you once before trial & some clients don't feel that's adequate. However, he's not slacking just because you don't hear from him every other day! He's likely already planned your defense in his head, or already knows exactly what papers need to be filed & when. All he needs you to do is show up when he tells you to & he handles the rest. Not to mention, if he were like most other attorneys, he'd be mailing you letters & calling you all the time -- and of course, you're going to pay for every one of those calls & letters, in 15 minute increments, no less. That's how they run your bill up! There is no other attorney around more knowledgeable, skilled & experienced as Dabney Overton.
