About
Crystal graduated magna cum laude from Vermont Law School, where she competed on the National Moot Court Team, the Texas Young Lawyers Association Mock Trial Competition Team, and the American Association of Justice Mock Trial Competition Team; served on the Executive Board of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law; and taught Legal Writing I to first-year law students as a Legal Writing Dean’s Fellow. Before law school, Crystal received her Master of Arts degree in History, focusing on the intersection of law and culture during the Early Modern and Modern European eras from Eastern Illinois University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.Following law school, Crystal worked as a Briefing Attorney, or a Judicial Law Clerk, for the Honorable Michael E. Keasler at the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Before joining Godfrey & Kahn, Crystal was a litigation associate with an Appleton-based law firm. She brings that knowledge and experience to better serve her corporate clients.Crystal is also an accomlished author of 2 scholarly, peer-reviewed articles. She published “Agents of Change: How the Police and the Courts Misuse the Law to Silence Mass Protests,” in the National Lawyers Guild Review (72 NLG Rev. 81, Summer 2015) and the later co-authored “Criminal Procedure: Confessions, Searches, and Seizures” with Judge Keasler, which was published in the Southern Methodist University Law Review (2 SMU Ann. Tex. Surv. 131, 2016).
