Corrie is Woods Law Offices PLLC's primary litigator, and focuses his practice on appellate, criminal, and post-conviction cases. Corrie also authors the firm’s blog, SCOPABlog, which is the only regularly updated blog providing comprehensive coverage of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s docket.Corrie became an attorney because he believes deeply in liberty and justice for all, and prides himself in bringing excellent advice and aggressive advocacy to every case, regardless of the case, and regardless of the fee.In addition to his work with us, Corrie serves as Chair of the Allegheny County Bar Association Appellate Practice Committee, which promotes excellence in appellate advocacy. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Criminal Litigation Section and Solo and Small Practitioners Section, and a member of the Washington County Bar Association. In connection with these organizations, Corrie has presented numerous continuing legal education seminars covering topics ranging from issue preservation and presentation to the sometimes inscrutable criteria for obtaining reargument before an intermediate appellate court or a grant of allocatur before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.Before founding Woods Law Offices, Corrie served as a staff attorney to Justice Debra Todd of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania for roughly 6 years, and, before that, as a staff attorney to Judge Arthur Recht of the First Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. Corrie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as Research Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review, and where he was awarded for excellence in the study of constitutional law and criminal defense. Corrie also graduated summa cum laude with valedictory honors from West Liberty University in West Virginia.In his spare time, Corrie also serves as Chair of the Coraopolis NAACP Legal Redress Committee, which provides education about civil rights and resources to individuals whose civil rights may have been violated, as a board member for the Coraopolis Community Development Corporation, which promotes increased business and community development in the Coraopolis area, and as a member of the Society of St. Vincent dePaul, which provides faith and financial resources to those in need.

Most likely I'd still be in prison if Woods Law firm had not come on board. Just because Woods was court appointed he spared no effort and time with my case and got all charges dismissed, fast! I get the impression he takes pride in his work and actually enjoys the legal profession. I hope he never switches sides because there just aren't enough competent, honest , skilled defense lawyers around. How many other lawyers give back to the community via things like food drives? Not many, right? Never met his better half but they just had a little guy and wish them the best. Again, if I had not fired the Allegheny public defender I'd be in prison. This attorney will work for you , not the judge and the district attorney. Not saying all pds are bad, no, but the one I had was simply treacherous. TREACHEROUS, did way more to convict me than the ada.

A lawyer that actually values communication with the person he represents. A lawyer who is sklilled , smart and puts in the work. My impression is he takes pride in his profession and is a credit to the defense. I hope he never switches sides, but if so I believe would be fair because that's in his nature. How many other lawyers give back to their community via food drives? Not many. I've never met his better half but they just had a little one and wish them the best and many thanks.
