About
The son of a south-side criminal investigator and a north-side union school teacher, Daniel is an associate attorney in Goldberg Weisman Cairo's workers' compensation group. Daniel graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004, earning a bachelor's degree in General Engineering. Subsequently, he attended the John Marshall Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2009. While at John Marshall, Daniel was a senior staff editor of The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law, where his article on the constitutionality of administrative law procedure in patent disputes was published in the summer of 2008. Daniel also gained significant trial experience as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney's office for the Northern District of Illinois and the Cook County State's Attorney's Office's Felony Trial Division. Prior to joining Goldberg, Weisman & Cairo, Daniel served as an Assitant Attorney General for the State of Illinois in its Workers' Compensation Bureau. While with the AG, Daniel tried dozens of cases in Cook, Kane, Will, Dupage, LaSalle and Kankakee counties. Daniel also successfully prosecuted private employers failing to carry workers' compensation insurance coverage required by law. One such prosecution yielded nearly $250,000 to be placed in a fund to benefit injured workers whose employers lack the requisite insurance coverage. Daniel is licensed to practice in Illinois, and he is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and the Workers' Compensation Lawyers' Association.
