About
With more than 30+ years of experience with law litigation, I bring substantive knowledge of emerging law and significant trial experience to the practice of family law in Florida. As a skilled law advocate, I'm a zealous advocate in pursuit of my client’s rights. My knowledge of current and emerging legal issues has garnered me recognition in the legal community. I'm a contributor to 'The Rules Rule' column of the Clearwater Bar Association (CBA)'s Res Ipsa Loquitur Newsletter. I am also the newsletter's former editor. In the past, I also served as Chair of the CBA's Family Law Section, Bench & Bar Conference Committee, and Oyster Roast. I was an Executive Counsel Member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and participated as a Chairperson, Co-Chair and Committee Member of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for over ten years. I have published articles in local and State bar news publications and have lectured on various topics related to family law. When I'm not working, I like to spend time on the farm with my two dogs, Sadie the Baby and Boo the Monster at my residence in Florida.

Connie Stephens and her team were just excellent representing me in a very contentious divorce that without her I do not believe would have been resolved. I have been a lawyer for over 30 years, and am just so grateful that I found Connie. Her advice was always just perfect, her understanding of the process, the court system, and her team is also just excellent. I have worked with hundreds of lawyers in my career and she is at the top. She is very good at explaining the art of the possible, very honest, very equitable, and very good at working with the other side. She and her team made me feel like I was her most important client, very prompt always, and exceeding kind to me when she knew I was upset. My case took about a year and she was with me at every step. I recommend Connie and her team 100 per cent. She is an excellent and caring lawyer, and if I could give her 10 stars I would, Mark
Connie was very easy to talk to and wasn't judgemental at all. She listened to everything I had to say and even though she couldn't assist me with my case due to location, she went above and beyond to research, locate and verify that a divorce action had been brought against me. Just the way she put me at ease, I would definitely use her for any future legal issues.
I came to Connie with a high conflict custody case that had already been going on for a year and multiple attorneys on both sides. She is tough and honest and truly believes in doing whats best for the children. Holly B. In the office is extremely kind and sympathetic and she was so helpful explaining many things to me and just being there as a person when I was worried or anxious about everything. I am more of the quiet type and I needed someone like Connie who was a lot more assertive than myself to take the information I gave her to the courtroom. If you hire her you will not be disappointed-she has years of experience not only in her area of practice but also with many colleagues in her field. She seems a little intimidating at first but she cares a heck of a lot about her clients and particularly their kids. From my experience with her be sure to speak up and let her know your thoughts and goals and she will fight for you as long as the children's best interests are the priority. No one wants their case to end up in court, but if it has to you need someone like Connie to fight for you.
I live in the Clearwater area and the year before last my ex-husband and I seperated and a messy, drawn-out legal battle ensued over our divorce, money, custody, and property. I was referred to Connie by a friend who had also been represented by her and I could not have had a better experience. She effectively represented the interests of my children and myself. I was beyond satisfied with the outcome as the settlement exceeded my expectations.
