About
Heidi L. Wickstrom joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., as an Associate in June 2018. She concentrates her legal practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, and mass torts. In her first trial with the firm, Ms. Wickstrom was part of a trial team that obtained a near-record breaking $50.3 birth injury verdict.Prior to joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Ms. Wickstrom was an associate at a prominent New York litigation firm. During her time with the firm, she assisted partners in obtaining many multi-million dollar recoveries for clients; namely, a $15.7 million verdict for the plaintiff in a case against Consolidated Edison of New York; and $10 million and $5.4 million verdicts, respectively, for two plaintiffs in cases against the New York City Transit Authority.Ms. Wickstrom has also tried many cases on her own, achieving her first solo jury verdict only two months after being admitted to practice in New York State courts. In addition to her trial work, Ms. Wickstrom has obtained countless six and seven-figure recoveries for injured plaintiffs through mediation, arbitration, and out-of-court settlement. She also engages in Appellate practice, having authored and argued appeals in both the First and Second Departments of the New York State Appellate Division.Ms. Wickstrom graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with degrees in Communication Studies and Film and Video Studies. After taking a year off to work for the general counsel of a property development firm, she attended Syracuse University College of Law. During law school, Heidi was on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Honor Society and worked for a boutique personal injury law firm as a law student intern.As an undergrad at Michigan, Heidi concentrated in a pre-med course of study, with the goal of becoming a neurologist or psychiatrist. Through many twists of fate, she decided to pursue law school instead and discovered that she could combine her interests in medicine, helping injured people, and law by working on behalf of plaintiffs in the personal injury field. Ms. Wickstrom says the most rewarding part of her job is being able to engage directly with her clients and their families, and relishes the opportunity to speak on the behalf of those who may not be able to do so.Ms. Wickstrom is highly involved in the American Association for Justice. In 2020, Ms. Wickstrom was elected to the AAJ Board of Governors. She serves as the vice-chair of AAJ’s Professional Negligence Section and is a member of the Motor Vehicle and Premises Liability Section, the Section on Toxic and Environmental Pollution, the Medical Negligence group, and the Birth Injury and Trauma group. Ms. Wickstrom has lectured several times for AAJ, as well as the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New Jersey Trial Lawyers Association, and has written articles that were published in AAJ’s Trial Magazine. From 2008 – 2018, she served as the New York Regional Chair for the Student Trial Advocacy Competition for AAJ.Ms. Wickstrom also holds memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, where she site on the Board of Managers, the Illinois State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers Association.In her spare time, Ms. Wickstrom enjoys playing and watching sports, theater, and hanging out with her dog, Jack.
