Mrs. Scales represented me in my divorce. She did everything she could to help explain the law to me. I received even more than what I thought that I was entitled to. She and her staff were professional and courteous throughout my divorce. I appreciate her help and will use her for any future cases. Her fees were reasonable and I hope my ex-husband is still having nightmares after our final hearing.
My divorce was complicated. With the help of Mrs. Scales and her excellent staff what seem like impossible obstacles and stalling from the other side was handled quickly and to my great satisfaction. This lady is worth it!!!!! I could not thank her enough for everything she did for my children and I. Now I can look forward to a happier future. Thank you, Brooke
From the beginning of the process to the end, Ms. Scales was professional, extremely knowledgeable and well prepared. I never once felt uneasy or unsure going into a hearing. She would always let me know beforehand what to expect at that time. Her staff was always professional and when I would call the office to ask a question regarding my case, they were extremely helpful and would call me back promptly with the answer. I found her fees to be fair and reasonable especially after talking with others who had also been through the divorce process with other attorneys. Going through a divorce is a very unsettling time for people. It's important to find someone that will make you feel confident that they are fighting for you. I highly recommend Ms. Scales.
I feel she handled my case well and the results were more than satisfactory. Yes, she's expensive. Yes, she has a strong personality. No, she won't let you cry on her shoulder (it's really not a lawyer's job, to be fair). But when she says she aggressively represents, she's not kidding (at least in my case). If you need representation in Family Court, it's worth paying for a consultation at the very least.
Hired her to be knowledgeable about my circumstances. Then I get charged for her incompetence in not knowing the law. Very upset with her services. Go find another lawyer and save yourself some money. A divorce with her will cost you 5K or more for simple cases. She will charge you for the air you breath.
Cinda told me she would do my simple divorce for $3500 however it became abundantly clear to me all she was interested in was maximizing billing and minimizing effort . She made many mistakes in paperwork and charged me $8200 by the end of it all for my divorce. She advised me to retain her daughter during my divorce case because she had me file an FPO. Her and her daughter Stephanie did nothing to get what I needed and made me settle for what my x husband's lawyer wanted. Both ladies showed up late for appointments I had with them yet charged me the full price of our meeting time. Both mother and daughter only look out for their bottom line profit and not for the best interest of their clients. I have told all my friends to never use this firm. They also had me do all the paperwork gathering for my case and then charge me for it all by sending me copies of what I already gave them. They legally rip people off. Might as well dump your bank account right into their account because money is all they are interested in getting done right! Sad but very true!!
Mrs. Scales was an hour late for our meeting which was for a falsely granted emergency hearing in 2 hours that was sprung on us the night before. Our case was in regards to a Maryland written court order for custody and Mrs. Scales said it should easily be thrown out. However she formed her own opinion about the situation and seemed to immediately judge us before we were even given the opportunity to inform her of the details. She was condescending/ judged before she listened and was extremely rude. She made us feel rushed because she had a court time in an hour, when she was late for our meeting. Then informed us she was on vacation after that, so we were on our own. The only reason we stayed in the consultation was because we needed as much info as possible for court in 2 hours and had no time to go else where. She proceded to tell us that her pending court time in an hour was with the very judge we were scheduled to see and that she could speak to him about our case because it was a clear cut jurisdiction issue and said her retainer fee was $3000 for something she could handle in 5 minutes while she was already in front of the judge. I don't have a lot of experience with lawyers, but Mrs. Scales was the epitome of the classic lawyer profile. Didn't care at all about us, the case or the facts, just the money it would bring her. She was very disappointing and left us feeling hopeless and swindled and robbed. She literally cut us short because of her court time and was a HUGE let down and extremely unprofessional.
Divorces are hard. Don't rush into hiring this firm. Cinda will rush you and charge you in full. Works towards agreements with legal community vs. fighting for you. Billing is a nightmare and if question they become very rude. I found we did 90% of the research and provided all paperwork needed and still were charged even charged for work redone because if there errors. Cinda will leave uou feeling she understands your case:need and has you covered till court date thennits all about kicking the can down the road to drive billings. Hire outside the area if you want an attorney to focus on your needs vs mediation and billables.
Cinda Scales was the worst lawyer I have ever had. It felt more like she was representing my ex than she was me. She treated me disrespectfully and extremely condescending . She was expensive and she cost me so much more than money by choosing her. If you are considering hiring her you better know your law because she doesn't have time to explain to you what's going on and will recommend you take the easy path that could screw you in the long run and then charges like she worked on your case for hundreds of hours. She is not prepared when she goes into court so don't be surprised if she doesn't recognize you when you go for hearings.
