About

I am a double Gator, having gotten my degree in history and law degree from the University of Florida.  I was raised in Southwest Florida and returned here to build my law practice with my partners Jimmy and Rene.  I love to read, fish and play golf.  However, corny as it may sound, I really love my job and trial litigation best.  I went to law school to be a trial lawyer and then ended up doing corporate work out of school.  In 2002 I remembered what it was I really had a passion for and I returned to Florida and became an Assistant Public Defender in Fort Myers.  This was a wonderful experience; to learn real law in the trenches and to try a lot of cases.  After around two years as a PD, I left for private practice as an associate in a firm in Fort Myers.  I built a practice for that firm in Charlotte County and then, when I felt ready to be on my own, I left that firm in 2006 to join up with my partners and form Brown, Suarez & Rios, P.A.  I am proud of the fact that we are a litigation firm and that we have a great team of lawyers who are not afraid to go to trial; whether it be an injury case or a criminal case.  That type of aggressiveness and hard work also leads to many negotiated settlements that are favorable to our clients, because we have earned the respect of our opponents.  Our lawyers and wonderful support staff work together on every client's case and make this law frim a fun place to come to work.  We have successfully represented so many people in Southwest Florida that I am proud to say that the majority of our business comes from prior clients and other members of the legal and business community.  Check out our website athttp://www.swfloridalawfirm.com/

Chris Brown is without a doubt the most honest and hard working attorney I have ever come across. I used him for a case and he went above and beyond, worked additional hours he didn't have to and did not send me a huge bill like most other money hungry lawyers do. He is the real deal, hard working, and kicks butt in the court room. Could not praise him enough for his legal guidance. Chris will have your back and take great care of you.

I had the pleasure of hiring an attorney named Chris Brown. He saved me 10 years in prison by being so well prepared and honest. I was involved in a racketeering case with 4 co-defendants who each had their own lawyer. Chris took my case for a reasonable fee and worked his tail off in order to keep me from state prison and while doing that he was able to keep me with my family. I had a 1 month year old daughter when this case first began. This was not an ordinary case being prosecuted by a state attorney. This was prosecuted by the Office of Statewide prosecution. The attorney general's office which is no easy task. They had an open check book and I did not. Chris recognized this and explained that this was an uphill battle. While representing me I not only had a great attorney I had a great friend. The results could have been devastating to me and my family, but some how he took 4 first degree felonies and 5 third degree felonies and turned it into 1 year in jail and 10 years of probation. The story doesn't end. While on probation I could not get out of my own way. I went on to violate probation 3 times all resulting in jail time. But the last one there was no plea deal in place. I thought for sure as well as my family that I was going to get the 10 years in prison. Which the thought of that scared the s--- out of me. All of the violations were not serious crimes, but they were violations. Chris prepared my family and I for the worst. He was there every time I called. Not once did he not pick up the phone. So we went into court on a VOP hearing with the statewide prosecutor's office begging the court to send me away for 10 years. It was so scary to hear them beg the judge. But Chris was prepared and calm and spoke to the judge so smoothly without hesitation. After the judge found me guilty of violating the probation and during the sentencing phase Chris calmly asked the judge,"Your honor what sense is there in warehousing my client in prison for 10 years" the judge took a 15 minute break during which Chris spoke positively to my parents and I trying to keep are spirits up in such a fragile time. And when the court resumed the judge agreed with Chris that prison time would serve no good purpose. And because his of kindness, professionalism, and friendship that Chris showed my family and I and the ongoing friendship he has shown me since by taking time out of his busy schedule to see how my daughter and I were doing. Keeping in touch. Being a kind human being. I would refer him to the heavens. I call him superman. He gave me a chance to be a full time father. I will never forget him. Sometimes a person can walk into your life and make it just a little bit better. He did that for me. Thank you Chris.

Attorney Brown won my freedom. What else can I say, and did it in an excellent, professional manner. I only wish knew about him him in the beginning.

When I met Chris Brown I was in the most difficult situation of my life. A person's worst nightmare. Being accused of something you did not do. I am an Insurance investment broker who has been doing business in Florida for 19 years and have never been in trouble with the law before. I was accused of grand theft by the state of Florida for selling a senior citizen an annuity investment. The whole thing was unbelievable and I was going to be made an example of financial abuse on seniors. The State officer even twisted the words of my client to get a warrant! I believed firmly in my position that I had comitted no fraud and would not back down but at the time I was at the mercy of the law the court and proving my self innocent. I was arrested and spent one night in jail to be bailed out the next day for a large amount of money. But before all this I was reffered to Mr. Brown by a lawyer friend of mine in Tampa, Fl. I was amazed that Mr. Brown answered the phone himself the day I called. He spent time listening to me on the phone and I set up an appointment with him asap. I was well counciled by Chris, he gave me options and he worked very hard on my case. He was understanding to my situation and I put my trust in him. We fought hard and after battling the state of Florida and the Dept. of Insurance in Tallahassee for a year and a half we watched them drop charge after charge and they ultimately dropped the case. Chris Brown is a dedicated experienced lawyer who will stand up for you and will not back down from a fight. Thanks Chris. I hope I never have to see you again. I

We are the parents of an adult who suffered a traumatic brain injury about 15 years ago. As well as the resultant physical problems associated with the brain injury, our son has the residual effects of expressive aphasia, and, as is often the case with traumatic brain injuries, undesirable behaviors such as disinhibition and poor judgment. These undesirable behaviors let directly to a situation which required the services of a criminal defense attorney. We were referred to Christopher Brown, and have never regretted the resulting association. We have found Christopher Brown to be sincere and thorough in his approach to our son's dilemma. He was, and still is, very empathetic to our son's condition. He is always willing to listen to what our son has to say, and even though we have no legal standing in the case, Christopher Brown is very willing to keep us in the loop with our son’s permission. However, he was extremely realistic when describing the legal ramifications of our son's case. We truly believe that Christopher Brown did the very best that could have been accomplished in this situation. We know that our son is extremely fortunate to have had representation from Christopher Brown.

We were very nervous about the process in the beginning, but felt hopeful and reassured after meeting with his attorney. Our expectations were surpassed. We were kept informed on the progress of our son’s case throughout the process. The response time to our questions was reasonable and the information very complete. The results were better than we could hope for and would highly recommend Attorney Christopher Hayden Brown.
