Chris was very thorough & helpful right from the start. He took his time to explain clearly what options I had as well as their future ramifications. He is a tenacious, creative, and compassionate attorney who will go the extra mile fighting for his client. He was upfront that there are no guarantees. Great communication, polite, friendly, all around great person to work with.
I was concerned about some issues I must deal with and reached out to Chris. He was very helpful in providing a plan prior to being hired.
After our son got in trouble with the law and charged with at least seven different counts, including two counts of from Oregon Measure 11. We were stressed out, confused and feeling like the world is coming to an end. We found Chris to represent our son. Chris is young, smart, friendly and very professional. Chris treated us with respect and integrity. He is real genuine and sincere person. Chris even spoke on our son's behave before he was hired. Chris and Felisha gave our family hope and comfort throughout our son's case. I remembered Chris told me "Kevin, give me all your stress and I will handle this for you, you just need to go home and take care of your family". Chris did handled our son's case for us. He did it with his expertise and experience. Chris was able to get 2 counts from Oregon Measure 11 charged off the table. The outcome of our son's case shocked us all. We were crying with joy to learn that 2 charges of Oregon Measure 11 had been dropped. If I ever need a lawyer again for any reason I would not think twice about Chris and Felisha. Highly recommended
Mr. Trotter is very friendly almost too friendly but it’s genuine and 100% real. Simply an amazing man that gives attorneys a good name.
I came to Chris in one of my darkest hours. I had drunkenly crashed my car and wound up with a DUII, reckless driving charge, and thousands in car repairs. From the start, Chris was honest about my situation and presented me with all the variables that would influence the outcome. Chris went above and beyond in representing me in not only my criminal case but at my DMV hearing as well. In a mere 6 weeks, Chris was able to get me diversion for the DUII and got the reckless driving reduced to a violation, despite me having a slew of serious prior convictions. Chris provided me with invaluable knowledge regarding how to interact with law enforcement and how to use constitutional rights that I didn’t know about to defend myself from unjust police treatment. Chris is the real deal in every way. He was willing to work with me on payment and treated me like a human who had made a bad decision, not a bad person. I seriously could not be happier with my decision to have Chris represent me. I would 110% recommend Chris Trotter to my family and friends, and will be using his services again when it comes time to expunge my record. Thank you Chris!
Chris is an absolute rockstar. I was facing serious charges and I had a prior but Chris worked unbelievably hard towards a civil compromise. A civil compromise for someone with a prior is unheard of but Chris is a true miracle worker. He made it happen!
I went to Chris facing some pretty serious charges. Chris's knowledge of the law and his approach to my case soon put my mind at ease. He has a good relationship with his peers and the prosecutor of my case. Chris saved me from even stepping into a courtroom.
Chris followed through with every step of the whole process. From court dates to settlements. He was thorough, fair and quickly answered my questions.
I consulted with Mr. Trotter on a DMV hearing matter. He was very professional and kind. He was prompt to return my calls and never treated me in a condescending way. He clearly understood the law and was able to help me understand all of my options. I have no hesitation recommending him to others.
After numerous phone and in person consultations, I decided to hire Chris to represent me in my DUI case. I was arrested for DUI, had BAC 0.33 and I had two minors in the vehicle. DA charged me with DUI, two counts of reckless endangerment and reckless driving. Chris was able to negotiate with DA a plea bargain of guilty plea to DUI and for state to drop remaining 3 charges. While it is not ideal to walk away with DUI charge, all evidence were against me and I don't believe I stood a chance of winning this in trial. Chris laid out facts very clearly of how my case would be presented in a trial by DA and it didn't look pretty. So considering my situation (state does not go kind on you with minors in the car!), one DUI charge with enhanced fine of $2000 (because BAC was over .15) plus all other fees and 80 hours community service is an extremely favorable outcome. Chris maintained communications channels very open, was very honest and upfront. He was also very kind and was able to handle me very professionally in a few erratic situations where I was pushing him to get DA to get me into diversion program (I do not have any prior criminal history at all, not even speeding tickets but having two kids in the car and high blood alcohol content puts one in a different game). But to get into diversion, you have to petition to the judge and I realized that no judge would grant me diversion with two minors in the car and high BAC. Chris was very patient with me until I was able to come to that realization (with his help). It was a very stressful situation and Chris handled it very professionally and in a respectful manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris to anyone needing legal defense. Once my two year probation is up (standard probably period after DUI), I will be contacting Chris to have 3 dismissed charges expunged from my record (something that I didn't know so maybe good FYI to someone reading this as well -- just because charges are dismissed, they are not automatically removed from your record and must be expunged. Oregon DUI could never ever be expunged. DUI and subsequent diversion will still stay on your record as DUI dismissal but still can never be expunged).
