I consulted with Mr. Owen about my case to possibly retain him. He seemed to not know the law very well. I knew more about the law regarding my case than he did. I walked away with little confidence in his knowledge of the law and his services. I ended not hiring him.
I hired Mr. Owen for a divorce. He seemed to not know what he was doing when we were in court. The judge always had to instruct him on the rules and how to ask questions. He did not seem very knowledgeable on the rules or the law. After that case was dismissed, he then represented another party in the same substantially related matter whose interests were materially adverse from my own interests without my informed consent confirmed in writing and also used and revealed information that he had gained from his prior representation of me to my own disadvantage. I was just appalled that he would do that to me without even at least consulting with me first. I would not recommend hiring Mr. Owen based on my personal experience with him as his former client. It was very embarrassing for me as his former client for Mr. Owen to reveal information about me in open court based on his prior representation of me that only he was privy to as my former attorney. He also seemed to not know his own rules of ethics. I should have done my homework first before hiring Mr. Owen.
