About
As an entertainment lawyer, I represent film, TV, music and art clients around the world. I am primarily a dealmaker - I negotiate contracts and help arrange new opportunities for my clients. In this sense, I often act as a "business affairs" executive for my clients. I am just as concerned about keeping a deal active as my clients, and much of my success is due to my ability to strategically assess a deal from BOTH a business and legal perspective. My clients sit on both sides of the artistic fence - talent and corporate - and include producers, directors, writers, actors, musicians, record labels, production companies, financiers, fashion labels, painters & art galleries, models & photographers, corporations and private individuals. This broad client base allows me to understand and anticipate problems from both sides of a deal.I received a bachelor of arts in economics from UCLA and my law degree from Georgetown University. I spent five years doing business strategy in the dotcom boom prior to law school, and since 2003 my entire law practice has been dedicated to the entertainment industry. My professional experience covers every transactional aspect of the entertainment business, including theatrical & TV distribution, brand & property licensing, talent agency & management engagement, production financing & tax credits & offshore banking, music distribution, music & literary publishing, integrated sponsorships, and everything else associated with running a successful branded entertainment business. I also represent clients in entertainment related arbitration proceedings and pre-litigation settlement negotiations. Please feel free to contact me if you need assistance with any of the above.

Christopher Nunes is incredibly clear and trustworthy. I never felt unclear about anything that he explained to me and more importantly I felt I could ask him to clarify even the most basic of points. He is smart, well read and has a finger on the pop-culture pulse, allowing an understanding and a short hand that cuts through much time. In short, he simply gets it.
Chris Nunes is extremely professional and trustworthy. As a prime time network producer, I did not have much experience on the contracts side of things, but he was the biggest asset to my deals because of his industry knowledge and business acumen. What impressed me the most was that his legal advice was always informative, unbiased and well researched. I can't thank him enough.
Chris goes beyond the call of duty as a legal representative. As a creative who does not like dealing with the legal side, Chris helps to put everything in perspective and keeps the project manageable and under control. I have never felt like a number with Chris. He always seems to connect with my projects and in addition to bringing expert legal advise he always seems to bring many excellent ideas on the production side. There is no ego with Chris. He speaks a universal language and breaks down legal talk into everyday language. At the end of the day going into any negotiation it is very nice to have Chris Nunes in your corner.
Chris takes time to intimately know and understand your project. He actually cares about Film/TV and making sure business doesn't kill the artist. He has a thorough understanding of the entertainment industry and has been incredibly helpful for me as I attempt to sell my first TV show. He is much more than an attorney, he's a business partner and a friend.
Chris Nunes did an excellent job for me, with contracts related to optioning book rights and hiring a scriptwriter. His advise shows deep knowledge on the entertainment industry while also taking care of my end. I can easily recommend his services as an entertainment attorney.
Christopher Nunes is a good fit for our company. We don't need a big law firm, but that doesn't mean we don't need someone who really knows their way around the entertainment industry, copyrights, etc. Chris has written many music licensing agreements for us. Some of them for big projects involving very large corporations, other with individuals. No matter what the size they were all rock solid. He also explains things in a way that's easy to follow, which is a big help.
I have been working side by side with Chris for almost 2 years now. He is always honest and straight forward with my case letting me know what my chances are at every step and giving me multiple option on how each step can/should be handled. Chris NEVER keeps me in the dark and is always very prompt to respond with any questions I may have. I have nothing but the up most respect and admiration for this man not only as a lawyer but a person. As good of a lawyer as Chris is; he is that much better of a man. He surpasses all expectations, he is kind and generous with his time, consistently maintaining professionalism at all times.
Chris is diligent, insightful and fair, he helps bring a wisdom to the profession, and also a clarity, particularly helpful in sometimes shark waters of entertainment law. He helped resolve an issue for us, and helped bring life to our movie.
