About

As the name implies a “Personal Injury” is a harm suffered by an individual. The harm can be physical in nature such as a broken arm or head injury or a financial harm such as in a business dispute. The legal umbrella of personal injury also includes defamation, libel and slander. Most Jacksonville personal injury cases involve physical injuries from some type of motor vehicle or slip and fall accident. Not all personal injures give rise to a lawsuit, which may involve a financial recovery. To find out if your personal injury gives you a legal claim please contact the experienced Jacksonville personal injury lawyers at Nooney and Roberts. Our attorneys will investigate the legal claim that may arise when you or a loved one suffers harm from an accident or injury and someone else might be legally responsible for that harm.WE HAVE COLLECTED OVER $40 MILLION FOR OUR PERSONAL INJURY CLIENTSHOW ARE PERSONAL INJURY CASES RESOLVED?Most of us have an idea of that all personal injury claimants have their “day in court.” While this is true some of the time, most cases will never wind up in a courtroom. Remember, the goal of your personal injury attorney is to collect the maximum client recovery your case and this does not always involve the courtroom or a trial. While some personal injury cases become formalized in civil court proceedings it is much more common that your dispute will be resolved through informal settlement before a lawsuit is filed:Formal “Lawsuit” A formal personal injury case starts when the “plaintiff” (the injured party) files a civil “complaint” against another person, business, corporation, or government agency alleging that they acted carelessly or irresponsibly in connection with an accident or injury that caused harm. This action is known as “filing a lawsuit”.Informal Settlement In reality, most disputes over fault for an accident or injury are resolved through informal early settlement, usually among those personally involved in the dispute, their insurers, and attorneys representing both sides. A settlement commonly takes the form of negotiation, followed by a written agreement in which both sides forgo any further action (like filing a lawsuit), choosing instead to resolve the matter through payment of an agreeable amount of money. To learn more about your legal rights when you or a loved one has suffered a personal injury in Northeast Florida, contact the experienced personal injury attorneys at Nooney and Roberts.

We met Mr. Hewett through Nooney & Roberts when my case was assigned to him. Chris was very professional & knowledgeable in regards to the laws & limitations involved with my case. But he conferenced with me & told me what they could do. He was very accommodating & he was kind & compassionate as myself & my husband both developed cancer & went through some difficult times. He remained persistent & was able to bring my case to an satisfying resolution. He made what could have been difficult smooth & he worked the case towards being considerate & flexible due to our health issues. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone. He has empathy for his clients & takes the time to keep everyone up to date. I cannot say "thank you" well enough to reflect the gratitude my husband & I have for Christopher Hewett.
