About
Mr. Henderson was admitted to practice in the State of Washington in 2009. Mr. Henderson received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his law degree from University of Washington School of Law, where he has co-taught the Disability Law course. As a shareholder with Brothers & Henderson, P.S., Mr. Henderson’s practice includes preparing appropriate planning and end-of-life documents; advising beneficiaries, professional fiduciaries and attorneys regarding settlements and special needs trusts; advising individuals regarding guardianship, state and federal benefits, and special education; and representation of clients in related disputes or litigation.Mr. Henderson’s past experience includes academic work in disability rights and professional work in business and technology, in particular technology addressing the needs of those with disabilities. Immediately prior to joining B&H, Mr. Henderson was a corporate associate in the Seattle office of a global law firm serving emerging technology businesses. During this time he served as outside general counsel to a variety of privately held businesses and regularly guided his clients in transactions valued in the tens of millions of dollars. While in law school, Mr. Henderson was selected as Symposium Editor for the Washington Law Review. In that capacity he worked closely with the late Professor and former EEOC Commissioner Paul Miller to bring together internationally renowned scholars in the field of disability law in a symposium studying the rights of the disabled on a global scale. The symposium culminated in an edition of the Washington Law Review edited by Mr. Henderson, Framing Legal and Human Rights Strategies for Change: A Case Study of Disability Rights in Asia 83 Wash. Law. Rev. 435 (2008).Mr. Henderson has been an invited speaker on Guardianship, Medicaid, Elder Law, Special Education and Estate Planning issues to varied groups including other attorneys and a variety of advocacy groups and was named a Rising Star by SuperLawyers in 2014. He is a member of the King County Bar Association, Guardianship and Elder Law Section where he serves on the CLE Committee; the Washington Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Washington State Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Section; Elder Law Section); and the National Academy for Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Mr. Henderson is on the Board of Alzheimer’s Association, Western Washington Chapter, is on the Advisory Committee of Compassion & Choices of Washington, and was appointed by the Washington Department of Social and Health Services to serve on the State Alzheimer’s Disease Working Group for 2014-2015. He lives in Seattle with his wife and their children.
