Imagine my surprise when I found out, after months of trying to contact Mr. Burrows, that he was no longer representing me, but had failed to notify me of that fact! I'm thinking, for over 2 years, he is working on my case when he hadn't filed the first paper! By the time I was made aware of this fact, the statute of limitations had expired and there was nothing I could do. I tried to file a complaint but the Office of Disciplinary Counsel took his side, even though no proof was ever produced, to me, of him informing me he no longer represented me. The attorney who referred him to me still hasn't stopped apologizing, even though I have assured him I didn't hold him responsible, he feels terrible about involving me with this "attorney! " Save yourself a lot of money and hire someone else!
I hired Chris to work on an accident claim for me. It was a small case that I could have handled on my own, but decided to let him take care of it. Now 7 months later I have not been able to reach him. He does not return calls. I’ve left several messages, emails, text messages and he does not respond. BAD BUSINESS. Now I have to research my own case to see if he was paid or not....
It actually pains me to write this negative review but I don't want anyone else to lose out due to the disappointing service by Chris Burrows. Throughout the time he was working on my case he was extremely hard to contact; if not impossible. This last time; I've been trying to contact him for 5 months via phone, email, and stopping by his office before writing this review. He hasn't returned a call in the last 5 months and before that it took 2 months to get in contact with him. Yes, that is 1 call in 7 months. He hasn't responds to multiple emails. Nor did he try to contact me after stopping by his office. From talking with the other attorney that rents an office in the same building it seems like Chris isn't at his office much. Since Chris Burrows will not contact me I am assuming he lost the case. (I would be happy if I'm wrong since I want my money) If he did lose; this baffles me because he was given an email written by the defendants admitting they owe me the money. And he still lost the case. How does someone lose a case where the defendants are admitting their fault.?. How does someone not contact their client when they lose; or at all? Only Chris Burrows knows but won't contact me. In my opinion; you can definitely find a better attorney than Chris Burrows. On a side note, I was referred to Chris Burrows by another attorney; Evan Guthrie. Even though Evan referred me to Chris I can't say Evan has been much help at putting me in contact with Chris so read from that what you will. I wish both of them could have help be better so I didn't have to write this as a warning to others. If I do hear back from Chris Burrows I will post an updated review but if there isn't an update; I would recommend finding another attorney.
