I was extremely pleased with Chris's performance in every aspect of my case and could not have asked for better results than he achieved. I wish there was an award for "Attorney of the Year" and I would nominate him for such an award because he did such an excellent job on my behalf.
Attorney Brough and his office staff were superb from my very first meeting (a free interview) on through to the completion of the divorce case. As I wrote them in a note, they made a very difficult event the most acceptable experience possible. Concerning Mr. Brough's counsel, he took initiatives - always with my knowledge - that clearly reduced the need for debate between the opposing parties. Most importantly, his solid insights and excellent follow-up achieved a resolution that was truly favorable for my long-term welfare while still allowing a beneficial balance for the other side. Along the way, there were a couple of times when communication was slow but I always found Mr. Brough and his staff to be accessible and gracious. In fact, when I was out of the country for one court hearing, I had no hesitation in relying on Attorney Brough to cover for my part before the judge. I am very grateful that Christopher Brough represented me in this case and I have already recommended his services to others.
Christopher after taking a case as I represented myself(which he urged not to) was classy. This isn’t a lawyer but a judge. He is someone who will make sure things go right. I’m only putting consulted because I represented myself against him. Mr brough is actually a really really good lawyer.
I was charged with a DUI in Greeville County SC in November of 2018. After reviewing many options I hired The Brough Law Firm. Chris and his staff, Kirby & Cathy were outstanding in communicating with me prior to my date in court. Never did I call and not get an answer. This is so important in an attorney / client relationship. I highly recommend Chris, Cathy & Kirby for anyone needing legal assistance. My case was dismissed and expunged thanks to Chris's knowledge of the law and negotiations with the Prosecutor prior to my trial. I was innocent, but could easily been found otherwise had I not hired the "right" attorney.
I just finished up my second and hopefully, last case with Mr. Brough. Both times I was guilty and both times Mr. Brough got my charges reduced. The first case was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor, the second case had two charges. More on the first case later. The second case involved a Dui and Open container. I refused the test and incurred an extra Six month license suspension effective immediately for that, which would have meant my license would have been suspended for one year in total, if convicted. I was, but read on. Thank God for Mr Brough, he informed me that we could ask for an Implied Consent Hearing, sometimes called an Administrative hearing, to get my license back immediately, with zero restrictions. Who knew! I sure didn't. Mr. Brough got the open container charge dropped and the DUI reduced to a DUAC. While Duac incurs the same penalty, it doesn't show up on a background check, which is used by many employers and rental agency's to name a few. Again, I was guilty, but completely satisfied by the outcome. The first case is what I really want to talk about. It was a serious charge. I hired him when he was a whippersnapper, working for a firm, on the recommendation of my bail bondsman of all people. He said he was a young lawyer, but was very good, and was going places. Best advice I ever got, best decision I ever made. This was the first serious trouble I was ever in, I hired him late, and the case was a very emotional one. I pestered him almost every day, bent out of shape, worried and just a mess. He took ever call, listened, reassured me and basically helped me to keep it together. For that I'm eternally grateful. I can't emphasize enough, how important that is, if you're going through something serious. Mr. Brough is not going to lie to you, he is not going to give you unrealistic expectations. He is going to be Professional, he is going to work hard and he is going to make you feel like you are BOTH going through the same ordeal. That your plight is his plight. At the end of the day, that's all you can ask for. Earlier I talk about pestering Mr. Brough daily about that first case. With this second (hopefully last) case I pretty much left it all to him. I already knew him from the first case, and knew he was working as hard as he could, to resolve this case, with the best possible outcome for me. Again, don't let the fact that I was found guilty deter you, I was guilty both times, with overwhelming evidence and in both cases, he resolved them with lessor charges, to my complete satisfaction. It would be remiss of me, if I didn't mention his staff, who are always cheerful, respectful, understanding and helpful. A top notch, professional office by all, if there ever was one. If you want the best outcome that can be realistically obtained, look no farther than Christopher Brough.
Cost $5000 and was given a plea agreement of $1000 fine or 90 days. The morning of court appearance he told me he could'nt guarantee plea agreement. He did not defend me in court at all. I was given 5 yrs suspended to 1. I would never refer him for representation.
