About
Originally from Little Rock, Chris graduated from Hall High School In 1991. In 1995, he graduated from Hendrix College, where he earned a B.A. cum laude in economics and government with distinction. Chris later attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he graduated third in his class and earned a J.D. summa cum laude in 1998. He also served as the executive editor of the Arkansas Law Review; was a member of the board of advocates, and served as a member of the university’s national moot court team, which advanced to the national finals in New York. He primarily practices in the areas of civil litigation, and other areas of practice include: Chris is married to Catherine Averitt. They have a son, Graham Averitt, and a daughter, Caroline Averitt.He is active in church and previously founded a local apartment church. Chris also leads a weekly Bible study for men in the office of Scholtens & Averitt. His parents live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where his father is a retired minister of the United Methodist Church, and his mother is a retired school teacher. He has two sisters who also live in northwest Arkansas.
