Christine Frentz Underwood practices in the Health Care and Trust and Estates sections at Woods Rogers. Chrissy's practice focuses on corporate, administrative, regulatory and transactional matters within healthcare law. She advises physician group practices, individual physicians, hospitals, long-term care facilities, specialty practices and other healthcare providers on various legal issues related to practice start-up; contract drafting and interpretation; licensure issues; corporate compliance; corporate governance; risk management; regulatory compliance; medical staff matters; physician recruitment; fraud and abuse; health reform; physician alignment strategies; and other day-to-day operational matters. As part of her general corporate practice, Chrissy counsels small businesses in areas of corporate compliance and governance and has assisted non-profit organizations in obtaining tax-exempt status from the IRS. Chrissy also assists clients, particularly young couples and families, with the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance medical directives. The Roanoke College graduate worked in development at Center in the Square and CHIP (Child Health Investment Partnership) prior to pursuing a law degree at the University of Richmond, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Chrissy was a member of the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board and interned in the Ethics Counsel Office of the Virginia State Bar and served as the Student Liaison to the Admissions Committee. She currently serves on the board of directors of Center in the Square and the Alumni Executive Council of Roanoke College.
