I wish I had used her during my divorce. I didnt hire a attorney through my divorce and represented myself. My ex wife kept suing me over and over since she used Alabama legal services and always gotten a free attorney. I am the type that never did want to get an attorney and just go to court mainly because I assumed I couldn't afford it. The last time I got served for back child support that I already paid I finally had enough. I was actually refereed to her by another attorney who said she had more experiance and would do a better job and I'm so grateful. She not only one my case, got my child support lowered and things that were not suppose to be in my divorce decree removed. It also sent a message to my ex that I will not play no more and see what happens when I have an attorney. It's been several years and I think the days of going to court are over. I would recommend her and still keep in touch. One last thing. She was affordable and even put me on a payment to plan. Should have used her the first time and none of this craziness and stressful nights that kept me from sleeping.
Please do not use this lawyer for any high-conflict or contested cases. She is a very nice person, not a good litigator. My case took two years before it was tried. She was unprepared, not aggressive, and allowed the apposing counsel to totally dominate the proceedings. She turned a easily winnable case into a looser. It really bordered on malpractice. I got custody of my child, but all my assets were awarded to my former spouse including property I had owned prior to the marriage, as well as all the furnishings of the residence I was allowed to keep, and I mean EVERYTHING, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer, all furniture, drapes, the child's dog, I mean EVERYTHING. I was also left with all the debt. She ended up with over 80% of the assets, yet I was left with the child to support. This is a case of you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and hire a competent attorney, you will come out better in the long run. I hope I can keep someone from making the same mistake I did.
