I'm shocked to see a one star review. I've used Atty. Crosswhite to handle the affairs of both my parents -- finances, VA Aid & Attendance, Medicaid planning, banking, etc. -- and found him to be nothing less than empathetic and caring. I should add that, at the request of a geographically (and emotionally distant) brother, I've since consulted with another estate planning attorney, one that gave me nothing more than boilerplate advise at a very high price. Atty. Crosswhite, in contrast, cut to the chase and gave me both the advice I needed and a map with which to proceed. So why the 'prep work' in the title of this review? Because you really need to take some responsibility and get your affairs in order BEFORE a consultation: finances, bank statements, insurance...all of it. The more you collect ahead of time, the more productive will be your interaction.
I hired one of the lawyers and she was very good. She left and put me in contact with another in the firm. He took several months to return my calls ; he lost my name and number. He never completed the work. I tried again to get a form notarized and they refused unless I made an appointment for another consultation. This was after I had already paid for work not completed.
