About

I was a public educator prior to becoming a lawyer, and my experience as a teacher shaped my approach to legal representation. I consider the “whole client” in assessing legal needs, and I investigate cases exhaustively, with empathy and compassion. I also take the time to explain complex legal information in a way clients can understand. In the area of employment law, I focus my practice on representing employees.  I represent employees in all aspects of employment litigation such as Sexual Harassment; Discrimination; Retaliation; Wrongful Discharge; Family and Medical Leave and Whistleblower Complaints. I am one of few lawyers in New Hampshire who regularly represents employees impacted by violations of the National Labor Relations Act, e.g. where an employer mistreats an employee due to his or her effort to collaborate with co-workers, to improve their workplace. Because of my commitment to justice for my clients, I have been asked by my peers to lead the charge in making and preserving laws that protect my clientele. For example, I have drafted and advocated for legislation to protect public school students from peer abuse.  I have also argued on behalf of several legal groups, before the New Hampshire Supreme Court, to limit protections afforded those who commit negligence; to extend to insureds greater access to motor vehicle insurance coverage; and to prevent public employees from being retaliated against, for taking important steps to protect the public.
